Man this event just reminded me how damn terrible most of the Phoenix mechs are. Actually the Locust 1V(P) was the most fun because my expectations were so low, and I got pretty lucky in a few games.

You don't celebrate stupid, you don't applaud one bad choice because its not as bad as another. That is like going, hey I buy lootboxes in Star Wars Battlefront 2 cause I want to support it but because I am the bastion of sensibility I don't buy them for Fallout 76.

SINCE THE PTS EXISTS they do that and since the pts exists the people tell them: Dont run events at same time with pts sessions, if you REALLY want vaible Data (snd enough of it).....their Actions speaks for its own as usual

Would love for the chance to fill out my Phoenix collection. I regret not hopping on the Wolverine and Griffin when I had the chance. I guess there was a poll some time ago about not releasing the collection again, but it would be nice....

I've got some SC stuff but stopped buying anything in 2018.
However I played Project Entropia universe for years (sold everything and left it in 2017) and Star Citizen selling virtual items is a small time amateur by comparison. PE virtual items sell for 5 digits USD every week if not daily. And PE had many dozens of sales in 6 and 7 digits USD.
And in PE spending $500 USD is about whats needed to play as a medium-low player hunter, or miner, or crafter for a month maybe two months tops if you got lucky.

PGI small development studio funded by IPG the publisher who pushed the gold khan mechs to help fund more development.
Players who had the cash available bought some khan mechs to support the game MWO.

Loot boxes have been around for decades, play galaxy online and galaxy online 2 both had the "lucky wheel" and you got a free spin daily or purchased additional spins, but it works exactly the same way you pay for a mystery prize and hope its "worth" what you paid out...

This has nothing to do with gold khan mechs skins, there is no gamble. Gold khan mech advertised for sale, either you buy it or you don't, if you buy it then you get exactly what you payed for knowing in advance thats exactly what you'd get so this is not a comparison to ever use again.

Fallout 76... its a Bethesda product and I don't support hostile take overs of small dev studios so I don't buy Bethesda crap.

used the fact that the pts started about 2 hours before the event to play the pts. played about a dozen games and switched back to lives. all those missiles made me feel kind of dirty.

At the time it was too expensive for me to get anything more than the Storm Pack (Locust and Shadow Hawk) so that's all I bought. While I understand not rereleasing the original Phoenix mechs, I don't think it would preclude PGI from releasing a new batch of Phoenix mechs based on newer chassis (maybe like a Rifleman or Marauder Phoenix mech for example) to give newer gamers a special mech with the feel of the originals.

On a completely unrelated note, I narced a dragon in the back few hours ago and after about I dunno, 10-15 seconds he drops dead - says I killed him and after the match I got solo kill credit as well, any idea what the heck happened? Dont really use narc much so never seen that happen before.

I saw one recently. If no one had pointed it out, I would never have noticed. Unless the light is just right, they don't really stand out. Could just be I am colourblind though...
