Um, Novakaine, are you still in HHOD?
Because right now you're kind of going against the values your unit professes to uphold.

Direct fire LRMs are too easy to defeat, simply by moving behind cover. Not only do you lose target lock, but all the missiles hit the non-destructible terrain. AMS is so over powered that even on LRM Highlands, they are irrelevant. Then there's the whole LOS targeting metric, which is of course predicated on whether the intended target CAN be targeted or not. Far too many matches where ECM keeps targets hidden OUTSIDE of countermeasures including counter ECM and BAP, making the targets invulnerable to lock-on weapons. The whole dynamic of LOW is broken beyond repair now. In Tier 1 play targets that don't have ECM or AMS or BOTH don't exist.

lrms can still go through ams..........
direct fire weapons can also be stopped with cover. LRMs gimick is the auto aim missiles, they best have some drawbacks it doesnt mean theyre useless.

What problems do LRMs cause with gameplay?

Is it "static" gameplay? because LRMs don't cause this.Moronic lack of appropriate counter tactics does.

"derppidy derp derp..look LRMs we should certainly stay back here at optimal range and hope they get bored and go away...derpaderp"...Idiots...

We are talking about a weapon with the largest minimum range window to exploit, effected my ECM,radar deprivation,AMS and simple defilade. That fires literally the slowest projectile in the game and lacks pinpoint damage application.

If ever there was a weapon that begged to be charged it's a 180m min ranged diffused damage lock on weapon that is jammed by the prolific number of ECM as well as rendered less effective by the also prolific counts of AMS and the omnipresence of radar deprivation and proper use of defilade.

But nope..."derpidy derp derp let's hide and die instead"

Lrms stagnate gameplay, forcing matches into pokefests and making brawling almost impossible. Use of counters arent the problem, its the boating and farming out back by using the team as canon fodder is the problem which makes long range gameplay the only viable way to play especialy thanks to map design.
That min range rarely gets exploited because lrms boats are almost always with the team thus making that gambit suicide. ECM is trash it only reduces detection range its no longer a stealth bubble. And as i mentioned earlier to the other guy, lrms can still go through ams

Ok, before the goes to K-town, I think there is a story here that really ought to be shared with the group. This sounds either hilarious or disturbing. Either way, lets have it.

Escef was unhappy I was arguing with Croc Dundee. I was being very salty.

He decided to interrupt and have a go at me. Mid argument, he decided I was racist (when race was never touched upon) and threw this at me -

https://www.twitch.t...PhoneKappaClaus

He came to my stream chat and said some unflattering things before leaving.

He then decided to start his own stream and people watching my stream (followingf Escef's example) went to his chat to troll him. I never called for anyone to do it. He just crashed into a certain one or two warriors he has a problem with in my chat. They called their friends and so on....

Queue 60+ mins of Escef talking about how he was wronged because people were coming into his chat to troll him.

But to stay on topic....

I think they've found a good mechanic for LRMS. Not sure coupling it with decreasing missile health and buffing AMS was a good idea though.

Which is it? Are LRMs "far out in the back" or "almost always with the team"? This sounds almost like a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation. Posted Image

Given how this thread has gone and you literally calling out someone for doing what you are now advocating.....

Do you feel slightly embarrassed?

Just curious

both. hanging behind a rock but within teamates long range alpha strikes. Since most maps have open spaces means suicide for any flanking lights.

Evidence of...? What? Saying I "decided" to start up my stream? Saying it like I did so to prove some kind of point? Fact is it was part of my regular schedule. And I've already posted my thoughts on this matter elsewhere, I wager if you haven't seen it yet that one of your sycophants will say something about it.

The good ones were up with their team, but still behind cover. The bad ones were 800m behind their team way out in the back.

Your video rather conveniently leaves out exactly what it was that triggered Escef. I'd like to know what it was before passing final judgement. If it's inappropriate here someone can PM it to me.

Twitch cut the audio due to copyright music up until this part. The original stream and chat are still up and available on my channel. It's the same date as this clip. Look for a game on manifold.

As I previously stated, I was being salty which led to Croc Dundee and I getting into an argument. It was over the rotation of the team.

Escef weighed in. It was my argument with Croc that made him angry. He then lost it even further at the mention of Ash's name.

He then decided it was fair game to label me a racist due to my association with Ash (he was in chat, laughing at Escef)

What more would you like to know?
