Thanks to PGI for another nice event with really cool rewards!
Now I wish I could stop here, but unfortunately I have to criticise especially this event and most notable one challenge: the 5 times over 500 match score. And no, I am not complaining about it, cuz I am struggling to achieve it. I got it.
I just had to notice that the way many people are playing during this event has gotten really bad. The return of really bad nascar, a total lack of any team play or even team cohesion. Assaults stay back and only join in lately to got the 500 matchscore.
This challenge hurts teamplay. And MWO is - well should be - all about teamplay.
Now I really have to wonder if you guys do play yourself during such an event and look what this event does cause to gameplay.
I do not have a problem with hard challenges. I do not have a problem if I cannot achieve them all. I do tho have a problem how some challenges result in far, far less fun...even if a game is won.
Many of the challenges reward good playstyle...like lance in formation. They reward the single player for doing good....WITHIN his team. But going for the 500 matchscore to get the big price hero Banshee makes most peeps go all egoistical.
So why not more challenges that reward teamplay? Why not rewarding something like if your lance gets an overall matchscore of 1800 or something instead? I don't care what, but please think of the effects some of the challenges can have to teamplay.
Oh, and another side-note: In the past 3 days I have seen only 4 times Incursion in the map rotation...and 3 times it was downvoted big time...cos players want the Banshee more than the 100MC. Another thing to look at in the first place: challenges that work against each other in the way they affect players going for it.
So please keep on coming up with events, but try to create them in a way that does support teamplay. For the rest we have Solaris...
