Actually a specific example would be anyone who has signed of a post with "git good or GTFO". That person is effectively saying that their opinion as better than that of a perceived lesser player. The argument almost doesn't matter in many cases.

This type of dismissive I'm better than you attitude manifests itself most often in the numerous solo v group threads that have cropped up in CW over the years. But I don't want to rehash that argument here.

To be fair, that is sometimes very much the case.

If somebody comes in and says something like, I dunno, the Mad Cat Mk. II is trash? Well...

That's a pretty clear cut case. But the more i thinkabout it the more i believe there's probably some truth to slide's statement because aesthetics and performance are kinda related in this game. A more experienced and min-max player will know the value of high mounts, which can lead to disagreement over issues like a new mech's arms drooping more than in the concept art. Or IS one-chunk missiles vs clan stream or something. I can imagine a "git gud" retort being slung in what one side perceived.to be an aesthetics issue.
