So...any Atlas Builds Still Performing Consistently?

Anyone still use their Atlas and find it still performs well fairly consistently?
If yes, what builds are doing the trick for you? I expect extended range ability is necessary for consistency.
Thanks

MRM+ Heavy Gauss combo seems to common right now for many assaults but I still prefer the AC/20+ all the SRMs! combo as Shoot, Twist, Shoot still makes the best use out of the Atlas' large torso. (charge time on HG always leaves me expose longer than I like)

I even tried to map it work in Comp practices at the top end of the game - still couldn't lol. It's torso turn needs a further buff for it to be viable.
The usual builds will "work", you can swap SRM for MRM if you want (more spread, more range), but yeah don't expect it to consistently perform because it won't.

Still trying to figure out what to do with my melee-D-DC, since 2 LL, AC20, SRM16+Artemis doesn't do the trick anymore
Edit just realized how old this thread is, well, too late. I already did the writing.

Feature Request: We need Atlas models in specialising ballistic weapons, another Atlas model specialising in laser weapons, and yet another Atlas model in missile weapons. Just like Fafnir. Just like Kodiak. All 6 existing Atlas models are jack-of-all-trades and master of none.
1. All six (6) Atlas models feel constrained; it's always 1 or 2 ballistic hardpoint(s) in the right torso, missile rack(s) in left torso, then a few lasers in the left/right arms and sometimes laser(s) in center torso.
I'm sure we are all aware that concentrating on a main weapon type on the same mech is all the rage right now (ballistic mech? laser vomit? missile boat?). Unfortunately in the Atlas, it offers none of these amenities.
We need an Atlas model with MANY ballistic weapons, another Atlas model in lots of laser weapons, and yet another Atlas model in missile weapons.
2. Case in point: Fafnir (Inner Sphere)
Basically what MWO designed the Fafnir to be, and port it over to the Atlas.
~FNR-5 for ballastic builds (4x ballistic hard points in LT/RT torso).
~FNR-WR for missile builds (Fafnir Wrath: 3x missile hard points in both arms. RT torso)
~Fafnir also viable with lasers
3. Case in point: Kodiak (Clan)
This is the closest Clan equivalent to an Atlas. Let us compare in detail.
3a. Ballistic. Atlas feels constrained.
KDK-3: 4x ballistic hard points in LT/RT torso. Actually very similar to Fafnir.
Atlas: 1x ballistic hard point in RT torso only in 5 of 6 models. (AS7-D-DC has 2x ballistic points but both in RT torso).
***This is exactly why Atlas is less competitive in ballistic weaponry.
3b. Lasers. Atlas feels constrained.
KDK-1: 8x laser hard points in both arms. 1 ballistic hard point in RT torso, and 2x missile hard points in LT torso.
Atlas Boar's Head: 6x laser hard points in both arms. 1 ballistic hard point in RT torso, and 1x missile hard points in LT torso.
***Atlas should at least give us 2x missile hard points in Boar's Head build?
3c. Missile models.
Let's face it, neither KDK nor Atlas is a great missile boat.
Atlas AS7-D-DC with ECM would have been an intriguing missile boat (similar to FNR-WR), but AS7-D-DC has all its ECM and 3x missile hard points are stuck together in LT torso, forcing unnecessary compromises that defeats the purpose of a missile boat. At least put the AS7-D-DC's ECM module into the Center torso just like FNR-WR!
4. Summary:
We need Atlas models specialising in ballistic weapons, another Atlas model specialising in laser weapons, and yet another Atlas model in missile weapons. Just like Fafnir. Just like Kodiak. All 6 existing Atlas models are jack-of-all-trades and master of none.

Also, do not solely look at hardpoints when valueing a mech. Every chassis has more, more or less hidden, features, like quirks, geometry, mobility stats. We don't need that every chassis can play every role evenly.

Some mechs are meant for boating a LOT of weapons. Others are meant for running fewer, bigger ones. Atlas tends towards the latter.

run on minmal weapon slots while other mechs (Nova, piranha etc.) Might run in 12-15 regions.
Sometimes this is compensated by good geometry / mobility / quiks... and some mechs are just forgotten.
When the IS armor quirks/ some cooldown quirks etc. where skaled down, some chassis lost any reason to see the light of day (some hunchis) and some other mechs where always forgotten.
