I don't mind fighting for Rasalhague in CW but I want to do it under my Marik badge.

Hey Russ,

I'm going to send you a STL Blues hat for you to wear from now on. Your team preference doesn't matter. You have to wear the Blues hat.

How does that feel? Feels Bad Man!!!!

Yup a little annoying. People don't realise how much the small things matter until it all compounds over time. Then stuff like WoW Classic becomes a thing and developers are like "wow, we had no idea all those design decisions mattered".

Battletech has 35 years of history with people. People have faction loyalties like they have team loyalties. Those loyalties are part of what ties them to the franchise. Devaluing or eliminating that loyalty is not a good idea. I get that PGI has always taken a sort of "be a merc" approach but this removes a big piece of the connection to the IP for a lot of people.

Perhaps they should make it so it displays half your primary faction, with the other half whoever's behalf you happen to be fighting for. Or something to designate as much.

Or just entirely de-sync your forum icon from your in-game allegiances. This could also maybe open up some new forum icon options that don't involve factions (i.e. characters or mechs).

What most of the FW loyalists want is to be with their respective factions and still be able to drop Faction and participate in any events. Not get locked out or have to choose another faction. That's it.

imho the badges should have nothing to do with actual gameplay. this would actually allow for a lot of other badges, like specific merc units or pirates or other splinter groups in the battletech universe. the factions shown for fp stories should only represent where the battle front is and not who you fight for (you might even remove those entirely for general clan-clan, is-is and clan-is badges but you still retain your chosen banner). you fight here on on this front as commanded by your house/clan. it doesnt make sense but at least you can fly your flag. all that is just bs when you are in the mad rush of combat (the part of the game i care about).

I also want my faction badge back. I'll fight with the Wolves, but I'd like the badge to reflect when I'm fighting with an ally rather than where my TRUE loyalties lay.

Are probation matches still a thing now that we can't be loyalists anymore?

I want my Jade Falcon insignia too. I have no idea why they took this away from Loyalists. A mind-numbingly simple solution would have been:

1) Select Loyalist contract
2) Select one faction out of all the factions
3) Select which side you want to fight on for the even.
3a) A message comes up: "Your commander is ordering you to fight alongside X against Y for reason blah blah blah. Do you accept? Yes/No"
4) Participate in event along side the faction you chose in #3 with your Loyalist faction beside your name, gain faction Loyalty Points as normal.
5) Once the story is done your Loyalist faction is locked in and you just pick which side you want fight for in the next story. When your Loyalist faction comes up in the story, then you are automatically put on that side.

You know what this does?! It gives Loyalists something for being Loyalists. You know, kind of like what we have been asking for for years?

But no, PGI could not do that could they? They decide to screw over Loyalists and fans yet again.

Took them a few years but they have removed Loyalists. I don't know much it matters at this point. Almost ever loyalist ts servsr is dead.

Yep I’ll have my Bear back thanks and the rest of my Bear family can have theirs back in the unit screen too.

Got no problem fighting for my space viking drinking buddies but I’ll be stuffed if I want their logo as my forum and unit profile.

Yeah but that's to difficult for PGI you know, it's easier to kill of loyalists.

Also it's not like the Marik side tried to change it around or something.
