What are peoples thoughts on an enforcer? I was thinking GH but I'm not sure.

Ghillie is fun but hard to play, it's well suited to gauss sniping but you need to get into position fast because the damage output on a single gauss is low. If you get into medium range so your lasers are effective, you risk being seen and then it's game over since it cannot brawl. Map awareness and positioning are crucial with the GH imo, it's good fun though, definitely.

Enforcers on the whole are good little Mechs. They did a nice job on the model, and the view from the cockpit is very nice, with few obstructions. Side torso hit boxes seem fairly small, so they do ok with an XL Engine.
The Ghillie is a fun little Mech. The ECM allows for Stealth Armour upgrade, which is great. You can do a few different things with it. I've tried a Gauss Rifle on it with Stealth Armour, but switched off to a RAC/5 and 3 Med Pulse when they adjusted the heat rules when Stealth is engaged.
The 4P can be fun, too. The RA can carry an AC/20 or Ultra AC/20, but it does lack the option to mount jump jets.

The ENF-4P also has a feature unique among IS medium AC20 carriers: an IS AC20 arm with lateral motion. Every other IS medium capable of mounting the gun gets either a torso hardpoint or an arm limited to only vertical movement. It's a very good knife-fighter because of that feature.
Overall, the Enforcers are better 'Mechs than people generally give them credit for. Not meta, but reliable in the hands of the reasonably competent.
Except the 5P. That one's kinda bad, even with armor quirks instead of structure and a small mountain of weapon buffs.

I quite like the 5P. This build, 2x Ultra AC/5 / 2x Light Machine Gun / XL 270, always gives me good results, but I will admit that it took some time to master it.

I love the Enforcer in tabletop. It does not do as well in MWO because:
1) aside from the 4R model, it is hardpoint starved, and at most 2 energy hardpoints in the torso means no meta hill-poking
2) not fast enough to be hit and run like a Cicida or Assassin
3) not as tanky as the Crab, Bushwacker or Blackjack
What the Enforcer does have going for it:
1) good torso hitboxes, if you can twist to spread damage an XL can be very survivable
2) jumpjets (except the 4P)
3) most enemy pilots will consider you low-threat and fire at a bigger mech near you instead
Stick near the team fatties. Concentrate fire on what they shoot at. Use your greater mobility to cover your Assault mech buddies.
If the match degenerates to a brawl go for rear armor shots.
When sniping use corners for cover and fire with one arm exposed, not the crawl up-and-down the hill.

Enforcer is a good mech, but used to be a lot better, when it came out it had decent fir power for the time, that is not true any longer, so you they are a robust medium mech with under average damage output. It's hard to do really well with them, but you certainly chose much worse than them.
4R has the best fire-power but it is too hot to brawl effectively with 5MPLs.
5P you can make a surprisingly effective 2xuAC5 build, no back up weapons so careful with jams, lol
Ghillie is a trollish version, but can be decent if you have good aim.
The rest are rather meh.

The 4P used to be one of my main rides for that reason. Just brutal doing right hand pokes, a real soloist's mech. It also had some wonky hit boxes that would magically eat incoming lasers. Just a fun, fun mech back in the day.

Wouldn't the Assassin Dark Death be better at doing what the Enforcer could do? Other than the mech looking a bit like a Power Ranger, I never really thought much about the Enforcer.

The 'Sassin lacks the hardpoints and tonnage of the 'Forcer.
