Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein

1948

What makes this movie so special is that it had several of the "greats": Bud Abbot, Lou Costello, Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi, Glenn Strange, and a voice character from Vincent Price.

Abbot and Costello are working at a train depot when a couple of large crates are delivered, and despite a warning not to deliver them, the crates are taken to the wax museum. Once unpacked, Dracula and the Frankenstein monster walk once more, and unknowingly, Costello's love intends to put his brain inside the Frankenstein Monster. During a mascarraed ball, Dracula takes off with Costello as his captive. Abbot teams up with Talbot (Lon Chaney) as the wolfman, to save his pal. After a merry chase around the castle the monsters all seem to have it in for the pair and each other. Finally they end up in a row boat with the invisible man.

Favorite scene: When Costello is reading a large card next to Dracula's coffin and the coffin begins to open slowly causing the candle to slide, leading to Costello freaking out.

I tip my hat to these great actors.
