Pros and Cons for the two mechs, from my mind, seems to indicate more Pros for the Veagle.

Yeah, the Veagle has it going on as far as actual 'performance' goes. Better hitboxes and more flexibility. It doesn't have the shark fin of the Pakhet though, so that's a pretty freaking big negative for me.

lol True. True.

I'm only asking 'cause I'm looking at Clan Medium mechs to buy and given the Hero sale, I was leaning towards that. But the Pakhet seems to be a poor man's Veagle 3 nowadays. I mean, there are quirks and so on that work for the Pakhet plus the omnipods allow for diverse builds but Veagle 3 just seems to be better.

You can't fit 8x6 SRM on the Veagle.

Both mechs are good, so I have both of them.

Huntsman is an omnimech with damn good high Mounts and jump jets. So this mech is very flexible.

Vapor Eagle, Clan Battlemech with some high mounted weapons (vgl1) and jump jets and slightly more Tonnage. No omnipods but you can Change the engine and free up even more Tonnage.

Conclusion: both are good! Posted Image

for 2nd line, the veagle is better in many ways.

but frontline.. oh boy. pakhet every time.
srm-bombing is one thing, but I suggest to run it with stock-pods and boni.
it is my goto-mech when I scout, and a blast to pilot. the set-of-8 quirks make that thing wonderfully mobile, 4xsrm6a + lasers / flamer - I'm in love with that thing Posted Image

Pakhet is far superior for SRM builds that run more than two launchers. The VGL packs missile hardpoints in its arms which fall off the moment someone looks at you. For example, 4 streak SRM 6s works fine on the Pakhet but struggles on the VGL. The Pakhet can also back up those launchers with smaller laser weapons, which the VGL A cannot do.

One advantage of the Pakhet is its c-bill bonus. The Pakhet is better than the Rival (Vapor Eagle hero), though if you bought the Vapor Eagle Collector Pack you get the VGL-1(S) which also includes the bonus.

Aside from the 8xsrm6 delete button the Pakhet has over the Vapor Eagle, another one is the majority of popular builds on the Vapor Eagle are left-sided. The VGL-2 dakka build, VGL-3 3xATM9 build, and VGL-A as well as some VGL-1 builds lose more than half of its firepower when you take their left torso. Pakhet builds can be made symmetrical or right-side loaded to guard your weaponry more easily during the inevitable nascar.

The convergence from missile pods in the Pahket is definitely better, they are also higher. Do not underestimate the importance of that. As far as SRM bomber I prefer it to any Veagle any day.

I didn't buy the vapor eagle as I didn't like the cockpit. Just a personal thing. I've used the Pakhet ever since it launched and I continually go back to it because it's just so damned good. When a mech has x4 shoulder missile launchers that have a tighter grouping than a Scorch, you know it's a good mech. The fin and jump jets on the model are stellar, too.

Seriously though, it feels strange when I'm using the mech and I spot an enemy Heavy and think to myself - "Yeah, he's going down." with complete confidence. It's also an amazing mech with dual PPC's and er lights, or going with the x8 medium pulse build. If you are decent with your aim the x8 medium pulse array is positively lethal.

I got 3/5 500 ms games from the La Malinche event in a streak SRM Pakhet, the other two were from my VGL 1 gauss/ppc sniper and VGL 2 UAC 2 build. For SRMs Pakhet is strictly superior, for everything else use the VGL.

The HMN is Omni - Thus any builds you want you can do with a single chassis that earns more cbills..

Dual UAC10
SRM Bomb
ATM
MPL

All viable on the Phaket and I would not say the VGL does some of those builds better neccesarily. The HMN does have pretty good hitboxes and some of the hardpoint locations are actually better on the HMN.

Basically comes down to what you wanna do. Either way it is a decent hero purchase if that is why you are asking.
