I bought the Pakhet based on this thread. I plan on using it to farm the Clan missile event.

It completely worth the mc/cash and really fun to just straight out challenge assaults.

The Pakhet is capable of some really good sustained DPS on th 8xsrm6 build. Very twisty too.

It is however, made of paper.

Veagle:
-Better at ATMs (Huntsman is still good at it though, just not AS good)
-Better at LBX + SRM
-Battlemech customization lets you min-max a lot harder
-More agility

Huntsman/Pakhet:
-Better at pure SRMs
-Better for most direct-fire loadouts
-Arm hardpoints are far more useful than the VGL's arms (VGL is mostly torso dependent)
-Far lower likelihood of being nerfed in the future
-C-Bill bonus without gimping yourself (VGL-Rival is bad and it should feel bad)

Both mechs have a wide variety of ways you can build them effectively but the Huntsman's build variety is even higher. Probably among the highest in the game really. The VGL tends to stick to a few certain builds like ATMs (the primary reason to buy the mech) or LBX + SRMs. You can't really go wrong with either one though since both are good gundams.

I feel like the VGL chassis as a whole has a great variety of viable builds than the Huntsman, but there are some that the Huntsman does better with the aid of the Pakhet torsos. It's also able to gain that c-bill bonus across all of them like you said. IMO the two 'Mechs are more or less all you will ever need from the Medium class if IS side FP isn't something you are interested in.

Generally, the VGL can run slightly more powerful versions of every HMN build. The HMN can do Gauss-vomit, but the VGL can do it with twin Gauss instead of just one. The HMN can do SRM32 (single alpha splat) for 64 damage, the VGL can do LB-20X+SRM24 splat for 68. The HMN can do ATM27, the VGL can do ATM33. The HMN can do 2x cERPPC, the VGL can do 3x or 4x cERPPC. The HMN can reasonably fit 4x cAC/2, the VGL can fit 5. Both have access to copious energy hardpoints for laser vomit.

I would say the HMN is actually better for splat since it still has significant firepower in the torso where the VGL has most of it in flimsy arms. I would also say the HMN is generally better at poking with lasers than the VGL due to much better hardpoint positioning and grouping.

How in Hades' name were you able to get 3 of the same hero? I was only able to convince PGI to give me 2 K-9s. Posted Image

Or did PGI recently make some changes to the store?

Honestly, I just felt that Veagle is just better in terms of built optimization that is common for Battlemechs than Omnimechs, so it's only really great for specific niche builds. Pahket on the other hand, is capable of doing a lot more builds than the Veagle, and espcially 8x SRM6 is just a beast to brawl with.
