For quite some time, gauss rifles and PPCs were sitting in same ghost heat group to fight massive pinpoint damage done with proper timings.
This raised a question - why not solidify this by adding module which pretty much emulates what we have as part of gauss rifle design?
Behold, the PPC capacitor!

Quote

The Capacitor must be located in the same location as the PPC to which it is mounted. The Capacitor is required to be charged before firing. So long as the capacitor is charged, the next shot fired by the associated PPC deals an additional five damage and increases the heat generated from firing that weapon by five points. If the associated PPC is not fired by the end of the firing phase, the energy may be permitted to dissipate, generating no heat, or else retain the charge, generating another five points of heat. The associated PPC may not be fired on the same turn that the capacitor is charged.

So, basically we can have it implemented as upgrade, separate kind of PPCs or actual module at 1 ton/1slot.
This will allow some really great things to happen, such as:
1)Harder to use, but stronger light peeking mechs with 2-3 light PPCs bundled with capacitors (Still with all the weight of 30+ heat, so it won't beat gauss or something like that).
2)Harder to use and more vulnerable to crits, but harder snub nose skirmishers/brawlers.

The only real concern with capacitor is it's use on heavy ppcs, but it still makes things harder and you can always just use HGR gauss charge rates/charge hold time.

Certainly sounds like fun!
