Recently I had a couple of games with one of the top 10 Jarls' list warriors. I guess the decline of MWO makes it possible for me as potato to fight alongside with this calibre of men. Eager to learn from him I watched his proceedings. He is always in an assault. I figured he would be very active in this game; taking initiative, giving calls etc. To my amazement he was rather passive. He just waited for his opportunity to come, nomatter if his team was to loose or win (lost all matches with him, he having high scores). He could have helped his teammates a lot of times but if it was not beneficial for his own score he just let them die.
Disappointing and relativating Jarls'. I hope not everybody in that rank is like him.

So basically they played the game with intelligence? Not doing the usual Mechdad cry of "Assaults need to share armour up the front".

Sounds like they actually played Assaults like(most) they should be played:
  • Brought guns to bear at range.
  • Made good Trades - IE - Output more damage than they received.
But no doubt around him, the rest of the team probably rotated like headless / clueless chickens and got rickrolled to no ones surprise because they have no place being above Tier 4.

Sounds like standard QP to me.

BTW - Who was it?

Rubbish. Absolute rubbish.

Just to name a few off the top of my head.

None of them... NONE - exhibit what you are claiming. They do it all live on twitch so you cannot hide behind that outright lie champ.

So how about you produce some actual evidence of this? I bet you have none.

The people who Excel at this game learned a long time ago helping pugs doesn't pay. If you try to call, everyone ignores you (Unless you call a terrible idea). If you try to help someone, they'll just run away and leave you holding the bag. If you try to lead from the front, no one will follow.

Basically, part of being good in this game (And many online games) is learning that quite often your own team is the enemy too.

Exactly this!!!!!!!! x 100.

I used Comms a few seasons ago. Went 50-2 or something. Incredible win rate.

BUT

The amoung of bullsheet and rubbish I had to listen to... Made it too much of a headache to bother doing again. There was a bunch of people that told me I didn't know what I was talking about (lol?). I've drop called 100s of drops... Maybe even over 1,000? With a winrate to back it up.

Of course most games were 12-0 to 12-2 mega stomps despite the fact that I, apparently, had no idea.

There is literally no point trying to use comms and call a match when you have an "expert" that has played 20,000 games and has made it to Tier 1 while being in the bottom 30% of the stats... Said player believes they have "made it" and thus understands the game and you have to spend 3-4mins arguing with said individual who them divides the team by continuing to make BAD CALLS over comms in direct contradiction to a Pro's calls - again - becuase he thinks he knows better. I mean with a WLR of 0.9 - You clearly don't.

We see such users posting here daily so they are aplenty.

Which is why a 24-way furball would have been the perfect Solaris implementation. Alas, we got 1v1 and 2v2 instead.

if im in a medium and im hanging out with the slow assault mech in the rear, what im really doing is using that assault as bait. il bail out if it goes pear shaped. you dont have to be the fastest mech, you just have to be faster than the slowest mech. you may call me out for leaving you behind, but you already made the mistake. besides you are just one mech and there are 10 others that need me to not die.

Why weren't you up the front sharing armour and playing like a proper Assault as advised by Low Tier players?

According to the users with a WLR below 1.0 - That is how the map it played, apparently.

I'm only in like the top 5%, and I'd like to help, but when I told them not to do that, they told me I was wrong, so I'm not gonna bother any more.

Man imagine using your 10+ DPS and range to just sit in the biggest possible sightline farming "assaults push and share armor" Tier 1s and getting complains on doing damage of two lances worth of your average MWO teammates.

I really suck at this game. I totally haven't seen many comp players (in fact the majority of one of the top end units whos member you mention above) sit at the very edge of maximum range when their team is losing

So basically you have no proof despite many hours of live streamed evidence that totally disproves your claim.

Had a feeling it would end up like that.

So you refuse to watch them, refuse to learn what they do and what puts them at the top of the leaderboards and yet... you malign and call them k/d savers?

So what? You made a claim/statement and have nothing to back it up with.

Whether you watch them or not is utterly irrelevant. 100/1000s of others do and those people can see clear as day what you are saying quite simply - doesn't happen.

What is irrelevant though is your claim. And it will be irrelevant until such a time as you provide some level of proof to your false claim:

As there are "many drops", I'm sure such evidence should be plentiful.

Alas you are empty handed.

"armor sharing" is a stupid term; up there with "premade"

You can health pool without nut hugging the **** out of a red diamond.

Well, sharing aggro or rotating armor is too much for pugs to comprehend, as well as optimal places to shoot from.
