Radars have a bunch of different characteristics of which many are inversely related (as you get more of one thing, it takes away from other capabilities) so a lot of customization can go into a build and in a mech game, customization is king.
Example of things that should be considered:
- Radar Range (how far)
- Radar refresh rate (how fast it updates)
- Radar Resolution (how good the radar is at differentiating separate things that are close to each other.
- Radar arcs (by limiting the arc of the radar you can get more of the above in a limited arc in exchange for blindness outside of those arcs.
If Radar arcs on some radars can be adapted to the situations left and right guards can set their radars specifically on those sides to keep an eye out for scouts while trusting the main body to cover the middle arcs.
