Since when did companies like Blizzard have the right to involve themselves in political affairs outside the U.S. They give a player a ban for spreading word for his country with all the crap thats going on in China.. This is just sick to see. Now I want to just kill Blizzard's CEO and all for bending the knee to China's idiotic policy.

Dang....

Oh, by the way, this has hit the national news. He played Hearthstone. Blizzard suspended the "Gamer" for a year, took away his title and all the prize money he had won (he had been a champion player for 4 years).

They've been Chinese lapdogs since Mists of Panderia. They certainly wouldn't want to endanger their ******* mobile diablo game rip off.

Somehow no one gave a bat in the eye that Apple removed two apps from the App store that are used by the Hong Kong protest movement?

That it did. Unlike the NBA who did not bend the knee to China and with good reason, Blizzard was willing to stoop to an all time low. I want to see Blizzard out of America right the fk now.

The NBA did apologize and retracted that statement, sill the Chinese gov banned them. That's not going to make a lot of NBA fans in China happy. IMO Chinese gov was already looking for an excuse to curb "decadent Western influence". Biggest losers here is Tencent, since they licensed the NBA franchise for China.

Blame both Activision and Blizzard --- the most logical explanation is that they don't want COD Mobile and Diablo Immortal banned in China. In 2018, the Chinese gov put a freeze that on all new game approvals, and that cost Tencent many billions in stock value. That freaked out all the Chinese game developers. In 2019, the freeze was lifted, and games were approved again. Tencent revenues and stock values goes up.

Tencent did the mobile port for PUBG, now a huge hit in China, so you can imagine all the bucks flowing to theirs and Bluehole's pockets.

Tencent also did the mobile port for Call of Duty and the publishing for it. Its now a major smash, considering all the bucks Tencent and Activision will make on this. This blows away both mobile versions of PUBG and Fortnite.

You can imagine if the game is unleashed on the Chinese market because you know, more than a billion people have phones.

Activision wants the game approved for the Chinese market, and dearly. They can smell all the money about to flow.

Blizzard (owned by Activision) has their own interest too with Diablo Immortal in seeing the game approved for the Chinese market, although I doubt its going to have the same smash numbers as CoD Mobile has, and may not even come close to PUBG and Fortnite mobile. I doubt that Diablo Immortal will have anywhere as close as the financial impact CoD Mobile will have.

Why Blizzard would choose Netease, who by the way is top notch when it comes to mobile game coding, but so is Tencent --- is kind of beyond me since they can easily go with Tencent. Tencent and Netease has this strong rivalry going on, kind of like Coke vs. Pepsi, Hertz vs. Avis, Toyota vs. Nissan.
