Which of the lights can you recommend me?

I am not a good light pilot but when I play them for a while I most often like the gameplay and do quiet good in them.
In my hanger with 110 mastered mechs are a couple of very good or funny lights.
Ravens, some of my Urbies, mg Phirania and others.
I dont like my Jenners and my clan lights.

So can you help me to choose one that has a unique playstyle, is not already in my hanger and seems to be worth the time to master it?

Thanks

Wolf hound is about the most meta of the mechs.

The Adder or the Cougar can pack an LBX20 or a Gauss Rifle while supplementing it with some lasers. If you'd want to try something like that, check them out. They can do the usual 2x ERPPC or run ATMs as well as some heavy laser vomits. Adder can be a nice SRM bomber, too.

Just know that they're very, very brittle.

Kit fox and Cougar can offer you massive weapons with ECM, Adder cannot. I took the Arctic Cheetah Shard on 1 account. Haven't yet on another that's qualified for the light mech reward. The kit fox hero is the only variant of the chassis to offer high mount energy side torso hardpoints. Two ER PPC's and the left arm of the kit fog G variant for its ECM hardpoint , three extra DHS and you have a hill cresting sniper with an actually good heat management curve.

^All three of those mechs suck in their own way.

Thanks for your hints.
I took the Deaths Knell.
It is not easy to play but it is fun and it was great to see how long I survived as last mech due to not got hit.
It was hard for me to do good hits myselve while running around high speed but that was always my problem with the lights.
one of my best lights therefor was my sniper Raven.

But a last question.
How do you best fit the 4 mplas?
using the 235 XL?

You may want to reduce mouse sensitivity if you plan to play lights a lot.

Congrats on taking TDK, its 4xMPL build is in my TOP3 lights list (and I played most of them).

In general; you want to play at low sensitivity with your mouse on low DPI.

Well I got the TDK.
Realy a great advice.
It was long since I got a mech with a different game play.
4 x mpls are much better than 4 x mls.

What did you skill?
until now I skilled all 4 laser nodes, durability and a bit kinetic with 42 points.
Any advice what my little friend needs most?

Thanks and may the servers stay on.

Between mobility and survival always play the percentages to the mech's base stats. Light mechs like locusts, commandos, piranhas, fleas and so forth that don't have a lot of inherent armor or structure to begin with benefit less from the survival tree than they do the mobility tree. In contrast, heavy & assault mechs which have gobs of structure and armor to begin with, benefit more from the survival tree than they do from the mobility tree. Dumping twenty something nodes into the mobility tree of a dire wolf isn't going to actually do much at all to improve the mech because its base agility/speed numbers are so low. An extra 7.5% speed to one of the slowest mechs in the game isn't the same as adding 10% more armor to one of the most armored mechs in the game.

Not a great light pilot you say? Great Loyalty Light Mech you ask?

I say AC5920_0|Nd|i^pU0|OG|OG|OG|OG|I@|d?qX0|OG|OG|OG|OG|d?|d?|i^r@0sB0tX0uX0vA0w504040

Do it right and you can fly horizontally a few hundred meters. You can also use that incredibly jump to enable some good sniping with a long range build.

I run it like this so I can run up stick the lasers right in someones back pull the trigger and stay airborne thru the cool off and land behind them again. Amusing and satisfying when you catch a fat straggler.

I would had taken the Grinner hands down, but TDK I hear is fun since everything one shots you if you screw up.

I also thought about the Grinner but I have so many laser vomits, even with ECM.
And I prefere ballistics and/or missiles if they fit in a mech.

But the TDK realy is fun and punishs you instantly if you make an error or stop moving (as I do very often).
But thats OK for me.
He is a challenge again.

Thats why I miss the old "rule of three".
As much as I hatetd it when I was a starter it forced me to master so different mechs I never would have played.
And many of the "crappy ones" turned out to become my favorites.

Ah the good old MWO times.
