Its Clan vs Clan and we've been waiting an hour for a match. This is the first time I've waiting this long to get a FP match in a long while.

Given the population in FP, the conflict should always be Clan vs IS. Many players do not have the mechs for one side or the other. There are still units that have strong affiliations with lore. My unit has newer players who only play Clan mechs. I know IS players who refuse to play Clan. Why are we forcing the population to one side or the other? Why limit the choice? Makes zero sense and certainly doesn't make sense given the population we have.

Nan, it's only because there is an IS only event and the mode is set to Clan vs Clan. Otherwise the queue is not negatively influenced by a little bit of IS vs IS, Clan vs Clan action. Those times helped get rid of IS/Clan OP threads.

If that's the case then perhaps there should be separate conflicts as it used to be.

just drop the whole loyalist thing already, and switch to whichever side has lower pop, preferably take attack when u guys have a group of 6-8+

thats even worse wrt population.

honestly the population seems really stable at the moment. would be better if i didnt have to play quickplay yesterday to work on the event. but when im just playing fp, i usually dont have any issues finding players.

Negative, I just level one IS and one Clan faction at a time. There's no penalty for switching, unless you're going for the hero ranks which most people don't have.

Locking it down to just Clan / IS would make it stale.

As pointed out - its just because of the event (IS only mechs). So not hard to see why FP is getting rekt by it.
