Allowing players to bring new friends to MWO by sharing some QP matches with them is a critical feature when it comes to introducing MWO to new players. But grouping is basically disabled in QP, for obvious balance reasons.

So instead of requiring players to sync their drops to attempt to play some QP matches with their friends anyway, do allow groups to drop in QP, but then split those grouped QP players between both QP teams.

If you find that's still abusable, then also limit the maximum size of those QP groups.

I concur with ASH

QP solo queue is unique and plays differently from other game modes. If you want to play in the group queue, it may be preferable to add "Group Queue" and "Solo Queue" checkboxes. This would be similar to how you can select servers for "Quick Play"

We do need it badly.

Currently there is no proper way to introduce new players to the game because of the group QP queue not working at all. Even the sync-drop is not the way, bacause of ELO tier difference. Solo queue would never put tiers 1 and 5 together.

Yesterday i had to bring a group with 5 recruits(with 3 of them being super-fresh) directly to FW because of the current situation. Which is far from the proper game introduction as you might guess.

And now imagine how many new players were already lost after spending 20+ mins in a group queue. They wont come to forums to complain about that - they'll just think that the game is dead and has no online players. Only because they ran into this tiny little issue with the queue.

Now, we do have a group matching system which tries to match groups against each other depending on their size and ELO. The one that has been implemented in FW queue recently. Give it a try - put it to QP queue. If it proves wrong you can always revert.

For the sake of new player influx, which this game needs most.

A quick play for groups is a must have.

I playing with friends and we NEVER play on one side. Always 2 in 2 or 1 in 3, for example. Pressing QP synchronously does not guarantee even getting into one match, not to mention one side. We came to the game to play together and Cannot. -__-`

And we can`t play with more experienced friends c`ose of different ELO tier scatter us in to different matches.
Yes, we can play a group in FW, but with the fact that part of us are cadets (+/- 30 games are still cadets - experience and understanding of mechanics are too little for an adequate confrontation) it's just feeding the enemy and we have no interesting matches.

Without groups it`s look like:
  • start the match
  • collect your broken teeth with your broken arm
  • repeat
Agree that for beginners this is not the correct algorithm for entering the game…

So we really need a group search mechanics for QP.
