Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can only seem to find so much on The Longbow online.
Any links other than sarna on Longbow lore would be great!

Few questions if anyone can shed some light

1. Does anyone know of any stories or novels where it talks about A Longbow exploding from ammo issues killing the pilot or anything close to that?

2. Does anyone know any Books that bases a character around a longbow? Other than Cedrick.

Simple questions just beats finding the same links to the same lore. For such a popular old Lrm support mech it sure doesnt seem to have alot of detailed facts. Maybe a page worth.

I read a couple of Battletech novels in the day and only remember the Battlemaster standing out. I also don't *recall* it ever appearing in any of the Mechwarrioe games, nor in Battletech / Crescent Hawk's Revenge.

MW4 mercs had it. It was just as ridiculous as you'd expect it to be.

I have figured out why I didn't realise it was in game - I got it confused with the Yeoman. Whoopsie!

I loaded up 3 Arrow IVs in that thing. It made for some ridiculous missile-sniper build.

I have not read every single bit of BattleTech fiction, but I tell you that I can not remember any such moment.

Personally I do not think that there is any such BattleTech novel.

Honestly, the Longbow has never been especially popular 'Mech. Old, sure, but not popular - neither in the BattleTech fiction nor on the tabletop.

It has never had any significant pilots in the novels and just one or two unimportant MechWarriors in various scenario books. You know, "named nobodies", so to speak. Not that kind of BattleTech hero that you probably want.

I vaguely remember the Longbow being mentioned in the background of some battle scene in some old books. You know, just to add some more details to that epic action description and to show that other 'Mechs than the Warhammer or the Marauder do exist. That's all.

The (German) TRO3031 had a small fluff story for the Longbow. Something about teaming up with a Locust.

Sounds like it's time for some FanFic.

lol, "hold lox plz" is the luore.

I mean, what could you even write about a lrmboat?

Come listen to the exciting tale of a pilot who hid in a ditch 900 meters from the fight pressing a button while his comrades fought to hold locks.

As the blood red sun was fading over the horizon of a toxic volcano he was valiantly putting the circle in the box to the despair of his enemies desperately trying to cover behind any terrain they could find. The valor was in his eyes as he was bravely pushing the missiles away trigger, and the fear was in his enemies hearts.

As a BattleTech fiction writer, you are on a par with Coleman or Stackpole ... Posted Image
