How will the battlefield look like ? Non-viable mechs will disappear. 12 pirs against 12 pirs ?
Would be fun !
If we're throwing balance out the window, can we get a 1 ton 1 slot heavy gauss? Pack a couple of those on a flea....

Um, in an attempt to try and understand the question/topic, can you please clarify just what you want to talk about here?
I mean, your topic of “No More Balance” and the question “how will the battlefield look” suggests that you are asking what the game will look like if we have no future balance passes, but we haven’t had a balance pass in like, what, 9 months? So, we already have an idea of what the game looks like with no further balance passes: that would be the current game. Personally, I still see lots of mechs, including lots of out right bad mechs with bad builds, but mostly it is the same lot as always with the regular players of my time zone playing their regular mechs. Sure there are some mechs that I haven’t seen in regular rotation in years (e.g. Locust 3V, 1V, most Kintaros, most Trebs, most Adders, most Cougars, etc.). But even during the heyday of Chris’s monthly “balance” passes, the mechs that were rendered into crap after the skill tree was instituted (or were already dead before that) were not buffed in any way that made them anymore viable then than they are now, so in that sense “balance” never actually balanced much in terms of the truly “Non-viable” mechs and builds you mention in your OP. So, I guess, if you want to know what the future holds for the game if we have no further balance passes, well, you are playing that future game right now.
That all being said, your crack about all Piranha 12 v 12 matches, might also be an indication that you aren’t actually asking about variant viability in a future of no balance passes, but instead are just complaining indirectly about the prevalence of Piranhas in your matches?
I just can’t tell what you are going after here, so please clarify.

Once the mechpack power creep stopped and the game balance froze it gave time for more of the community to catch up to the "meta" and realize how OP some of the new mechs really were.
At least the current state of the game is better than the Kodipocalpyse of a few years ago, now that was a balance nightmare.

You can never achieve the state of perfect balance IS/Clan, but I agree that the present situation is not too bad. The ratio of IS/Clan 'Mechs is roughly 50:50 in QP.

PGI's answer by nerfing the Kodiak into the ground wasn't a good solution either. While I agree that the current state of the game is arguably much better than it was, there are still some glaring issues like under performing mechs that you rarely see on the battlefield and engine desync. If they ever do decide to revisit MW:O for balancing, they need to be more transparent with what they are gonna do before they actually do it.

PGI? Transparent? I would not use both words in one sentence with a straight face.
