I've been watching MWO on Twitch for the last week or two in the evenings EST and I have to say, I had no idea how many furries play this game. Everyone and their Mum is wearing some kind of wolf hat, or animal costume, or has wolf in their name. I always thought players tended toward those with military service, not people who think they have a woodland creature buried deep within their souls. Also one fellow right now is streaming with an enormous boom mic in front of him. Sir, you are over compensating.

I am an adult who loves to play videogames, what's more, I love to watch other people play videogames.

But if that person wears some kinda silly civilian issue hat other than 1) baseball hat 2) hard hat 3) blackjack visor, then nuts to that, I'm out. Get a job weird degenerate babies. Hoorah.

Bro I don't just play them, I make them for a living. Hoo-rah indeed! I mostly watch the streams for their cringe worthiness - they're like train wrecks you can't look away from. Nevertheless those fur suits are weeeird man.

You have to agree that the prevalence of forest animal related paraphinalia (I butchered that word) among streamers is at the very least noteworthy. At least half of them seem to be convinced that they're wolf-kin. I'm surprised that the Kodiak isn't a more popular 'Mech!

Theres actually like a ton of streamers on twitch in general that fall under a category I like to call "boomer in a dumb hat."

Kodiak is a bear, how about Wolfhound or Timber Wolf?

Beside that the facination of twitch is beyond me in general. Prefere to play myself instead of watching people play. Only exception is when I try to decide if I want to buy a game and want to see some gameplay first.

I did flip to a twitch stream where an older guy was wearing a Pikachu beanie with tassels thing? He is a more established player, but Im blanking on the name exactly. Though it is weird to a see a guy in his 60s or so wearing a yellow rodent on his head I kinda chalk it up to "oh well Ive seen stranger things" haha

I personally have nothing against furries who are reserved and enjoy the artwork, but I do have a problem with the obnoxious prideful ones like SonicFox who give the fandom a bad rep. Same thing can be said with Bronies. I ran into one in a QP match who said "hello everypony" before the match started which made me cringe pretty hard.

I hate ******* furries since ******** Scott Malcomson has directly caused the elimination of the Eridani Light Horse from the BattleTech universe.

If you do not believe me, just google it.

Yup it's a free world, I suppose one has to set themselves apart someway when there are such a huge number of people streaming. Talking of ponies, my wife has informed me I shall be wearing a giant unicorn tshirt for my daughter's birthday. I guess I shall be joining the ranks!

OP its a real eye opener watching streamers

but one of the biggest shockers in MWO was seeing all the stupid names people call them selves lol
like naming your self after some mass murderer (talk about having a screw loose)

like the MWO forums its different and takes some getting used to
twitch has also become a meeting place for players (the few of us that are left)

just dont tell any of your real life friends you watch twtich lol

your friends randomly show up at your place, you frantically try to close tabs with 60 year old fat dudes in furry costumes playing video games and open up some pron tabs to make it look less bad, lmao

but yeah, shits weird

I think it's because all the amusing names are more entertaining than the game itself.

As long as it doesn't say Brony on it you should be good. Generic giant unicorns don't count either, lol.

Yeah, i allways wondered what is it about that is so attractive to make a Person wear bizarre Headwear - i could understand that for certain types of entertaining Videos like a Video/Stream about a fable or so but why in Mechwarrior and alike games, or in video about serious things like law etc.?

I mean, a cool Neurohelmet design would fit mechwarrior but i have seen at best 2 People having worn something helmet like but countless persons wearing bizarre somethings...

Is it attention making?
