This probably started after HHOD launched their secondary unit HDOR (or was it HODR?). I think you can see why THAT led to HODOR.

I don't think I invented it or anything, but I used to occasionally call them "hoderves" as in Hors d'Oeuvres. Because they usually get nommed.
