Hi sorry asking this...

I've spent couple hours browsing and trying but still can not disable cockpit. I tried rightShift+F11 it does not work. I reset my configuration and tried again and it does not work. I added this to user.cfg:

gp_option_ShowCockpitGlass=0
r_DepthOfField=0
r_ColorGrading=0
r_HDRGrainAmount=0.0

and it didn't work. On youtube I see videos people playing without cockpit but how????

To my knowledge, the only thing you can remove is the cockpit glass, which I recommend doing.

That's what those .config command lines are for.

Well, that, depth of field, something with color, and turning off film grain.

googled a lot. says RShift-f11 removes HUD. I was thinking is this for gameplay or screenshots. But since not working at all for me I was curious to ask.

Yeah, it doesn't do that for me either. I honestly don't remember how to remove the HUD from MWO, or if the functionality is included, sorry.

So if there is no chance to remove visual cockpit.. Then that's ok. I thought people play without one. Maybe I am wrong. Thanks everyone for help!

I do not believe it can be disabled. Maybe very early in closed beta.

Press f7 to remove the HUD. Assuming you haven't rebound your keys.

Pretty sure removing the HUD (the chassis) would be considered cheating and might lead to a ban.
Different Mechs have limited vision for balance reasons (e.g. Piranha )

While I'm uncertain how much the cockpit's range of vision is actually factored into balance design, removing the actual cockpit modeling would indeed be an unauthorized alteration of the game's code.

Hey, guys, Biomechtric has it on this one. PGI literally moved that command key, like they say here...

...and so basically what you have to do is Zoom In at least one or two notches, then press the F7 key, and finally press the PrintScreen Key to complete the ScreenShot sequence. Make sure to turn your HUD back on quickly, though... otherwise your Mech could be VERY short-lived! B)
