As title says ... pushing the "Purchase MC-Button" in MWO-Client does not do anything. Anyone else encountered this issue and has a fix?

you probably de-activated steam overlay. The button opens the steam webbrowser, where you can do the transaction.

Thats right.. forgot about Steam and overlay needing to be enabled for Steam browser to kick in, since in game browser requests is processed through Steam API. Many turn off the overlay due to issues.
Just checked the setting on, then of course turned it back off
It does require a restart of the game to allow change in Steam setting to take effect.
