When it's a grouped vs ungrouped FP match :

1) Never select a broken game mode like Conquest, Dominion or Incursion : Save those controversial FP modes for grouped vs grouped or ungrouped vs ungrouped matches only or players will invariably learn to hate those game modes instead.

2) Always give the ungrouped team the Siege Defense advantage no matter who's attacking who : Do you want the matchmaker to stick to the story, or do you want your ungrouped players to stick to MWO ?

Until then it's the same story ~every day : A single big group shows up, which combined with one of the controversial Conquest/Dominion/Incursion modes, or simply with the Siege Defense advantage automatically ends up chasing everyone else out of FP for the day early, through a combination of both stealing all the matches from their side of the queue, and stomping everyone else out of the other queue.

Even someone without access to the MWO database can see this happening all week long, the only question here is why the hell PGI can't ?

Well, yeah, it sucks to see strong groups sticking to defence. But there is no matchmaker at all in FP. So no real chance to change it.
The only thing they could *possibly* do is make the defenders and attakers swap sometimes.
How to do it? For example, make both sides have an attacking and defending planet. Surely not a big change.

Would also be easier with a bigger player group. Would love to see MWO grow again . . . somehow . . .

So in fact FP does have a matchmaker, one that gets completely bypassed by the group mechanic, which sure enough does make it look like there isn't one.

There's plenty of things PGI could do, such as giving an ungrouped team a combat ID bonus over a grouped team in the lobby, so they can at least prepare for a matching deck rush from the grouped team, specially on the incursion/domination/conquest modes.

Beats wasting months implementing a FP matchmaker that simply doesn't, can't and will never apply to filled up groups.

It would be nice to see for example the simple solution of prioritizing ungrouped against other ungrouped players.
I've experienced far too many times to count having 12 randoms on each side queing, waiting, sometimes taking upwards of an hour to get 12 players on both sides... but then, as the counter reaches only 30 seconds left - what happens? A literal 12-man stack snatches the priority spots in the que, and ends up chasing away all 24 other players.

One side for taking all their spots after waiting for so long. The others that got into the game as opponents against the stack, for being crushed by a 12-man when first queing against randoms.

Make grouped players have priority against other grouped up players. Non-grouped vs Non-grouped. Mix if necessary. Easy,
