Well by now everybodys seen the new Catapult design. I think it looks sweet, and I always like to go to sarna and compare the evolution of the models and read a little bit about them and to my delight I read that the Catapult is " heavily used by the Capellan Confederation, although it is found in other Great House armies in smaller numbers." (thats from here, first paragraph http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Catapult) Since i decided to fight for house Liao i have been searching for mech designs that are known as signature capellan mechs or at least heavily favored by our house and the catapult is the first mech i have come across that specifically mentions something along those lines. Can anyone think of any others? Especially any of the more popular/iconic designs from the older games that we might be likely to see in mwo?

You can't talk about Capellan Confederation 'Mechs without including the Vindicator. The category page on Sarna might help with finding more examples.

We use them, but it isn't that iconic. ;)

Jinggau is distinctly Capellan and it was my first tabletop mech.

Nice list, thanks! I had been looking for something like that! I love what im reading about the raven for sure! guardian ecm suite sounds awesome given what they have told us about the emphasis on information warfare and balancing light mechs with other weight classes, it would seem like an obvious choice to put in the game. It also looks awesome with that super sleek cockpit and big shoulder guns! Its one of the few on that list even that Sarna specifically associates with Capellan Confederation and also one of the few on that list that we have seen in other mechwarrior games iirc. I would love to drive one of those, darting in between buildings, gathering all kinds of battlefield intel with that Electronic Warfare package and then taggin those atlases with a narc beacon to summon all our catapults to rain fiery LRM death!

Dang, you beat me to the punch!

I have found it surprising difficult to find information on what 'mechs were specifically disigned by each of the Houses, even using sarna and other such sites.

the Highland mech if I could start with it that would be real nice! second choice would be the clan Black Hawk are Nova small but lots of punch! but if I had to I would use a light mech the Wolfhound woud do!!!

I just remembered. Sunder and Owens are very iconic too, but just for the Mechwarrior series.

I hope they have a Cataphract in the release, I would love to roll out in one.
The Stalker feels very Capellan to me. Unfortunately most Capellan "feel"/Look designa happen to roll out in 3058 or 3060. The Men Shen, Ti Ts'ang, Lao Hu, Yu Huang, all enter service after the MW:O in game universal year. But we could look forward to some Capellan variants of the Vindicator, Blackjack, Trebuchet, Vulcan, Guillotine, Cyclops, Awesome.

Here is an interesting article: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Koschei
