For you FP veterans out there, a question for you all.

I'm going to buy Drop Decks with this 2021 New Year sale!

1. So how many Drop Decks do you have?
How many for the IS side, and how many for the Clan side?

2. Do you tend to stick with the same one Faction and keep playing FP with it, to max out your Faction Reputation Tree tier awards?
(Or do you switch between IS and Clan factions to play?)

I have 7, 4 IS and 3 clan. I switch between clans and IS, depending on where it's easier to get matches. I go Davion as IS and clan I'm Nova Cat.

Thanks for your reply; now I'm even more confused with Faction Play (FP).

1) If I've already pledged loyalty to Clan Wolf, I'll be stuck on the Clan side always in FP,
and all Faction Reputation Loyalty would work towards Clan Wolf's Faction Reputation awards tree.

2) So how can you "play on the IS side" once in a while as you wish?
Won't you get that 4-game penalty for switching to IS Faction Loyalty?

I have 4 clan decks, and only play clan. I have figured out you truly only need 2 decks. 1 Long range deck, and 1 medium range deck. I run 4 anyway.

Deck 1: Long Range. 2 MAD-IIC's ERLL, EBJ-A PPC ERML, PIR-CI
Deck 2: Medium Range: 2 MCII-B's, VGL-3 (UAC-10's PPC, PIR-CI
Deck 3: Medium/Short: 1 MCII-2 (Gauss ATM's), MAD-IIC-SC LBX20's, SRM6., VGL-A LBX-20 SRM6, MLX-ED
Deck 4: Built to other mode running in addition to siege. Fast movers for conquest, LURM/Anti-MURM boats for Domination on polar highlands, Less assault, more heavy mechs for other modes. Somehow they work... lol...

If you already pledged you can just click "faction details" and you can again choose Clan or Inner Sphere and then you can again choose the house you want to play for. Your not locked into anything anymore, no penalties. If you want to switch sides/houses 10 times in an hour you can, no harm. If you pledge the house that is currently showing in FP then you get 120% LP rewards.

Up until recently I only played for House Steiner. Due to low population I switch between Clan and IS as CCRIDER stated above, to get into matches.

And drop decks...I never have enough (currently 12)

Honestly, drop decks should be like mech bays and included in the loyalty points rewards.

Hero of x contains a drop deck. I am currently at 10 normally IS decks

I can probably make about 5 drop decks for each side. I would probably switch between the two sides unless there are incentives not to. I like all different kinds of mechs. Whatever kind of poll you are going for may be skewed, as newer players aren't likely to use the forums.

2 drop decks is all you need (1 IS, 1 Clan). Learn to set them up in 80 seconds, it's plenty of time, and you can always play whatever you feel like at the moment and not be confined to presets

i only have 3. currently all set up for is at different range brackets. i didnt pay for the 3rd one, i got it from a pts session.

protip here is to stick all your fp mechs in your favorites list, and paint them according to their capabilities (like if i need erll vomit, just pick one of the white mechs). you can also use dekkles placed on the front of the mech to quickly identify what mechs do what.

just name the mechs with loadouts, I used to have cool names for mechs like "Mjolnir", "Gungnir"

now all my mechs are named: "MRM60", "Vomit ER", "Vomit Cold", "4ERLL", "3PPC", lol
