Huh.
Is that site purely fan-driven, or does it pull from the game's API?

Pretty sure its fan driven since the Dervish still doesn't have its quirks added.

The maintainer draws from game data but added upcoming mechs like Dervish manually before they stopped maintaining the site at all. Dervish never got pulled properly.

Probably trolling.

More likely they're trying to get it added as a new mech. By making it available to edit on MechDB people will theory craft and rally behind the idea. Puts peer pressure on PGI.

But no IS Omnis or Urbie IICs because it's a personal agenda, kinda like the "exceptional build quality" star.

That was my first thought it a not so subtle hint

Is Smurphy's mech lab any more up to date?

If/when PGI switches up the balance values this year it's going to throw these websites out of wack. It'd suck if neither is being maintained any longer.

Smurfy has not been maintained for an even longer time.

From Smurfys:
"All information shown is based on game-data released on 2019-08-23." Not aware of any stat changes since then.

MechDB still has the Dervish listed as "theory craft". Devish came out June 2019 (2 months earlier than Smurfy's timestamp).

Honestly, listed stats are good for an indicator of performance but taking a mech out will give you a much better idea as to how it performs. Really, use whichever you prefer for theory crafting. I prefer Smurfy's, it just works, MechDB is better for searching out variants but I've found it a nightmare on certain devices/browsers.

Something that Smurfys or MechDB should do is let you make your own mechs from scratch so we can theorycraft everything ever. We set the tonnage, faction, Omni vs. Battle, etc.

Do you think it might be some sort of sleight of hand effort by tryhard and/or comp players to upset the FP meta?

I'm guessing you're talking about the Star.

Can't really see it upsetting the meta, the FP players know what works and it doesn't make sense to poke fun at something you lose to.

If anything it's there to dissuade pugs in QP using LRM assaults.

I like your tinfoil but that's not the reason.

It'd be amusing if you actually knew though.

That would be an act of incredible cruelty. :(

Just sell the Urbs IIC alone, it should probably pay for itself (in terms of dev resources) based on how much the IS Urbie sold.
