Maybe because points I did not respond to I might well agree with.

PeppaPig got the other part, Clan weapons are done right for 12 v 12 BUT that is not what should have been thus are done wrong.

No game started with 8v8 and they moved it up to 12v12 maps are too small for 12v12 they need to move it back down to 8v8. And Clan tech is better then IS tech god when clan first came out they were BROKEN AS F! That is why we got quirks to balance out clan tech.

You're still missing it, has nothing to do with 8 v 8 or going to 12 v 12.

Clan tech was broken in the board game too but not as bad partly because the Clan 'building block' for units is different.
IS units go from 4 man Lances then up such as 3 four man Lances make a Company.
Clan units start from 5 man Stars then go up.

When game went to 12 players a side then brought Clans in, there was a lot of expectation Clan teams would be 10 not 12 but something prevented PGI from doing it.

Just because they balanced stuff for 12 v 12 mixed or IS vs Clan doesn't mean they got it right.

Balanced for 10 Clan vs 12 IS is right.

That is absolutely unrealistic. There is no way we'd get an even distribution of Inner Sphere and Clan players so the matchmaker could launch 12v10 games without having to regularly wait for the underpopulated side to fill up.

Even if we could, balancing a game for uneven team sizes would be an absolute nightmare to actually get working and all the snowball effects would be even worse.

No, just no. No way, no how.
