classy. unfortunately i was stuck in anchorage away from computers while mom got assimilated fitted with an external fixator after mangling her elbow. her injury cost me 3 holidays now. was worried id miss the gulag pts too, but it seems pgi are just going to dump the values on the live servers.

Hey, mom's are important.

Unlike what Cancel culture thinks....you wouldn't be here without one. On mothers day we often forget about them, at least I didn't prank mine on April 1st by calling her up at 3:00 am ask her if she let the dog out.

thanks guys.

they got her in a wheel chair now. with her balance disorder, being short an arm has really destroyed her ability to use her walker. and she cant operate the wheel chair either, so she needs an escort. wheeling her through the airport was not fun, nor is getting her in and out of vehicles. we might have to do that one or two more times yet depending on how she heels up. this whole ordeal has given me insights into the horrors that the handicapped have to deal with on a daily basis.

its also given me insight on how janky the american health care system has become. they will swing for multiple flights and high end hotels with gourmet meals for two people, but try to get her into a rehab facility for the duration of the treatment and they give you a big fat no. reliance on local cab companies over caravan type services (which operate on subsidies) that field vehicles capable of handling wheel chairs in an efficient manor. then you got the hundred thousand dollar a flight medivac service and a 500% markup on her wheel chair.

and the paperwork. i think they send us home with 15 pounds of paperwork. our travel plans were issued 90 minutes before the flight and i had to pick them up on foot. they were also wrong. they had her surgery booked the same time as her flight home. so i had to pick up a second set of forms on foot. they also had us out for 4 days because they wanted to do a pre-op visit that could have been done on a zoom call. they also had us run around going to different clinics in different parts of the town for covid testing (even though were vaccinated) and labs. its like they tried to find the most expensive way to do things, and went with that.
