I’m having a lot of fun running a King Crab with dual RAC/5s as a mid-close-range brawler, but I want to try something more agile and lightweight. I’ve been poking around and heard that something like the Bushwhacker or Shadow Hawk would work well, but I can’t seem to get a loadout i’m quite satisfied with. Any tips, builds, etc. would be appreciated.

Any chance to fit 3xRAC2 into SHD or HBK with light engine?
SHD is still ok even with XL, due to being quite slim. But HBK seems to die too fast Posted Image

I also tried to fit 3xRAC2 into CN9-AH(L). It does perform waaay worse, than those 3 mechs. XL hurts when shot at.

I think that you could do that, but the 'Mech will be 8.8 km/h slower. The Light Engine is simply heavier than the XL Engine.

You could try swapping out two of the RAC2 for a RAC5 (especially after it got buffed today), it's three tons lighter which might just make the difference. HBK-4G This build of mine is running a 275XL for maximum flank potential but you could totally drop a light engine in it. I've barely playtested it and there's almost certainly someone else here with a better build but it's a thought.

You can run Bushwacker with double RAC5 on light engine:

It's a bit tight, but you will ~1000 damage anyway, which is enough for carry. It also possible to ditch one heatsink for additional ton of ammo.

Bushwacker with 3 Rac's makes heavies run scared.
