how do i transfer my existing campaign progress to a new career mode?

So, when you start a new career you pick your faction, then you select it, confirm and then it askes if you wanna start a new career, or import your data.
That's where you select your old campaign save to import.

Will this procedure correctly import all data?
For example, your c-bill total, pilots, and all of your mechs?
I understand there is some issue with loosing mechs from cold storage.
