Matchmaker question here, since I don't know the guts of it. But I do know that the matchmaker doesn't pull pilot ranking off groups that drop in quickplay queue.

Could the matchmaker "ignore" groups and just balance the players by tier/ranking, but apply a bonus to that player's weight for being in a group? Either a flat bonus or a small fraction of each player they're grouped with?

PSR is factored in for Groups. It appears Average PSR across the group size is what is used.

Thanks for the clarification.

perhaps a bonus to PSR for the purpose of matchmaking is in order for pilots in a group? That might handicap a group of potatoes, but it would more accurately reflect a group of veteran players, as communication enhances their performance.
