So how do we make *Color* fonts in this MWO Forum?

For example, is it like,

Blah blah blah

[color:#d1ae63] Blah blah blah

<span style="color: $1"> Blah blah blah </span>

(Obviously above does not work; any guidance would be appreciated!)

It should have been something like...

Colored Phrase
...but it happens that coloring your text is not allowed on the MWO Forums which we're using at this time. Any color found in my post right now is because of the "CODE" Tag that is being used here. :(

[Edit]
Color coding to follow the MechDB 2.0 color coding for IS vs Clan.
Hence above color numbers!

Well we know SOME color formatting is allowed, because announcements and patch notes are always posted in blue. I'll keep editing this post to experiment with all the standard types...

Interesting. So they have the color turned off. mere mortals cannot post colors.

But... if you edit or type a post, in the upper left, you have that little switch that toggles editing mode. Put a color code like the following in your post, toggle that upper left button, then toggle it again... and you have color text. BUT... it doesn't save that way to the forum post. Arrgh.

Basically, the PHP that the forum is written in has the color function locked to permission level. You have it if you're a moderator or above, you don't if you're not.

Just one thing to take notice of... It so happens that the Forums which we use, even if they're PHP-based in nature, happen to be running on the "Invision Power Boards" form of software design. I literally detected this more than 6 years ago as of when I am posting this, but only due to past experience of using both IPB and PhpBB designs before that. That thankfully means PGI has had an easier time with defining permissions for stuff like that. ;)

And now for me to get some sleep... been one long day for me... -_- zzzZZZ...

This thread was moved to Website & Forum in a colourful manner! Posted Image

To give some insight to this, any non-default text colour is permission restricted to non-standard users.
So, if you want to see your posts shine in vibrant colours like above, come to the dar... erm... Moderation Team!

Good that we can use at least other fonts... Posted Image

Yet, we could try to use alphabet characters as image file per letter, but this solution is rather... messy.

Done Posted Image

https://mwomercs.com...auldron-changes

14-Dec-2021 Quirk Pass #5 (New!)
http://mwomercs.com/...-14december2021
New mech chassis quirks:
Summoner '
Firestarter, Quickdraw, Jagermech, Annihilator

Minor mech quirk changes:
Myst Lynx, Adder, Hellbringer, Marauder IIC, Supernova, Dire Wolf '
Javelin, Spider, Jenner, Raven, Cicada, Marauder II, Atlas

======================
How:
and [/ CODE]

1. Note: No spacing in
above
2. Any text becomes 'red'
3. Add apostrophe (ie: ' ) and anything else behind this becomes 'green'

======================
Comment: Now the only thing left that bothers me: excessive spacing between the [New_mech_chassis_quirks] and the [Minor_mech_quirk_changes], spacing of which is controlled by this MWO Forum software, and not by me!!

limiting use of colors to moderators only is pretty clever. its sort of like having your own police lights to turn on when the local denizens are up to no good.
