3058.

No words can describe the gaping hole this leaves in my soul.

Who else will miss this beloved light mech?

Honestly I am more of a Adder/Puma fan which should come with the clans, the cougar is a great mech though.

I'm a bit more fortunate, I only have to wait about 3 years for my beloved Piranha.

You might never get to pilot one of you're in the Fedsuns, you might wanna swap to the Lyran Alliance and try to capture one during the battle of Coventry (January 30th 3058).

Though even then it'll be difficult given the asskicking the Jade Falcons are going to be dishing out there.

Why didn't I get coloring books like THIS when I was a kid? :(

I love this 'Mech. I've only used it in MW4 but it is fantastic; You start with a couple of these puppies if you get sponsored by the Wolf's Dragoons in MW4:Mercs, and I kept at least one lancemate using them well into the middle of the game;s campaign. Excellent attacking-from-range 'Mech ^_^

@Stormwolf,

I'm normally a mercenary but until we get specific merc faction badges I thought I'd declare my loyalty to my next favorite group xD
(and I might play more than one account ^_^ )

I really do hope they skip a few years with expansions... I love my Cougar...

Never was much a fan of the Cougar. Although thought it rather an eye sore to look at and its weapons pitiful. That it is a light weight 'mech that does not even boast jump jets, its only asset is its relatively fast speed. No comparison to a Fire Moth.

The Cougar was my second favorite Clan Light mech until I found the Piranha, at which point it became the third. It's a fun little beastie and packs a nice punch, but it's neither an Adder nor my very favorite knee-biter. Still, you can do some nasty things with a Cougar if you're a good pilot.

As for getting them, they'll probably trickle through the Inner Sphere once they become available. Lyrans grab a few at Coventry, a few get nabbed from the Lyrans, a few get sold once in a while, etc.

Sorry to disappoint, but mechs like the Cougar, Bushwacker, Fafnir, Templar, Argus, Mad Cat MK II and uziel won't be available during launch since they don't exist yet.

You also won't be able to buy any Clan mechs since they won't even venture into the Inner Spheren till early 3050 and the Clans aren't all that keen selling on those designs.

For those who do not know this (and I bet it's quite a few), Clan mechs aren't all that wide spread among the Inner Sphere factions from 3050 to 3085. MW4 never displayed a canon portrayel of the amount of Clan mechs available. Those mechs usually end up in elite units instead of the public mech market.

A lot of people aren't prepared for what's coming. Clan weapons have always been toned down the Mechwarrior games (except for maybe MW2). Those designs won't be sold on any markets any time soon, the Clans aren't handing out any weapons if you should wonder about it. You'll have to capture those things if you want to use them.

I'll assume that the game won't be dumbed down, but you won't be able to repair Clan tech if you are in a Inner Sphere faction. The Inner Sphere doesn't even have the knowledge to prevent Clan mechs from breaking downs in a couple of months, they won't figure it out till the mid 3060's (which is in about 10+ years).

And before people ask, no Clans don't use mercs. Some Clans like Clan Ghost Bear consider Mercs to be a blight among mechwarriors, they actively seek and destroy mercs. And I won't even mention the Jade Falcons and Smoke Jaguars here.

We're all quite aware that mechs like the Cougar and the Piranha won't be available for years, but that doesn't mean we can't talk about them.

Besides, I think you'll find some of us rather determined when it comes to capturing Clan tech.

Oh the Uziel, if I see that mech in 1000 years it will be too soon.
What an eye sore(much like the cougar).

Haha I was thinking the same. If you are looking for a cougar, just head to a bar and look for the slightly older ladies with the hungry look in their eyes you wont be disappointed!
