When we input our website URL the forum actually adds http itself and that should be switched to https.

Google+ is no more and should be removed.

Now, do they still read here?

The small form where we input URLs may start in http indication, but it switches to https entirely on its' own if the URL which is pasted in happens to be an upgraded link. It could be that I'm crazy, but I don't see a problem there. What are you doing anyway... entering URLs manually and forgetting to upgrade the link yourself? We might not want to be causing havoc with the core of the Forum's software here.

Nope, tested and when I enter only mywebsite.com it adds http:// and if I enter https://mywebsite.com it adds the http:// so results is http://https://mywebsite.com

It's you in charge of this?

Oh I get it very well. Had to use HTTPS Everywhere to actually enforce the use of HTTPS instead of HTTP. I know that, because I also had a problems with the forums when forum was loaded via HTTP.

Yet I agree that PGI must fix that, along with G+ removal. Maybe they should add Discord instead (if they're brave enough)?

I'm not personally in charge of these things, otherwise my ID would show as PGI Staff instead. That actually offends me a little that you would mistake things in such a manner.

Now... I can tell you that I'm not encountering your problem. When I paste a URL in, the Forums auto-upgrade the link to HTTPS for me, should it detect a complete...

...to work with on the front. Until my fingers floated over the link in your reply to me, I did not even see the problem. And then it struck me, because if you paste in only...

https//mywebsite.com

...to the field, and the colon (the character, NOT the body part) is missing, then it will fail to detect the need for protocol upgrade, and won't fix the link in the manner by which it is designed for doing. You should really make sure to put in your colons (" : ") in the future!!! (NO PUN INTENDED!!!)

This thread needs to not die until we figure out what odd thing is happening to you. (And consider yourself forgiven on the impression of mistaken identity... I should have seen that coming with the way I post!)

Out of curiosity, when you paste a URL in, are you doing it with the "Ctrl+V" shortcut, or via Right-Click & "Paste" instead? I did notice there is a momentary spot where things might go wrong if doing Right-Click & "Paste" instead of the "Ctrl+V" method. But, if you use just about any key on the keyboard after doing the paste into the text field, then it seems to right itself.

Also, are you using anything with your browser that modifies and/or disables page scripts? If so, then you may find that there is possibly some kind of adjustment needed to avoid messing up the Forum's script-based software (which I believe from past experience to be some form of the "Invision Power Boards" script-based software code) which is needed for making text input work correctly when posting.

Found out it's the text on the forum that is not showing correctly and is misleading but the href is ok.

Okay, yeah, that certainly needs fixing! Those in PGI's Staff who control & operate the MWO Forums should not be prefixing any kind of item on the URL themselves. Instead, they should be operating it more in line with how URLs are entered in posts if they wish to restrict what protocols are allowed on that particular line. Looks like we'll both have to wait for the fix on that one, as the internet does not all operate on non-https anymore.

You're getting a big Thank You from me for showing exactly what the problem is, as I originally thought this dealt with the Post Entry field at the bottom of any of this Forum's various threads.
