MAY FEATURES UPDATE!



Greetings MechWarriors,

Based on direct community feedback to the upcoming MWO features, we've made some changes! Join Matt Newman as he goes over some of these updates in the video below. We're really looking forward to the May patch and hope you are too!

AMMO IS NOW A SEPARATE CATEGORY FROM FIREPOWER IN THE MECH STATS
in both the QUIRKS and QUIRKS + SKILLS sections!



RADAR DEPRAVATION COLOR CHANGE FROM "AMS GREEN" to "SEISMIC RED"

Glad you're working on new features. This skill tree is QoL but more content would be awesome. Event queue has worked out real well in other similar games.

Please show ammo nodes as ammo level +1 or ammo level +2.

Nice update!


For ammo, would it possible to show them in their own category and not combined with firepower section?

Just showing Ballistic ammo +1, +2 or Missile ammo +1, +2 also works.

Nice to see the color coding and skill breakdown. Bummed about the sensor tree reorganization, though. Radar Dep is an extremely powerful set of skills, and ECM was completely neutered when Skill Tree was launched in the first place, so having the ECM nodes more easily accessible to recover lost functionality, and setting Radar Dep further down the tree, was the right call.

While I see where you going with this, and I like what it sounds like, I don't think this would combine well in the Quirks+Skills section.

Some Mechs have +ammo on only some weapons, so you'd end up with:

SRM Ammo +13
Missile Ammo Level +1
LBX 5 Ammo +8
Ballistic Ammo Level +2

So what's my combined SRM +ammo and LBX5 +ammo? I don't have Missile Ammo Level +1 or Ballistic Ammo Level +2 memorized and then you're asking me to do math with the extra SRM Ammo +25 and LBX 5 Ammo +8.

I think, as much as I hate how many lines it adds, I think I'd prefer to see the total +ammo values in the list

This seems like the better suggestion of the two. Always put +ammo lines at the very end of the list. Get the noisy, obnoxious skills out of the the main body of the list, but still accessible.

You can mouse over the ammo in the mechlab today and it tells you exactly how many rounds you get.

Ohhh, yeah this is what I'm talking about! So glad you could actually separate quirks from skills in the display!
I Haven't seen the rest of the video but that is enough to make me happy, thank you guys.

Yeah, that's in the Mechlab though. This also shows up in the Select Mech screen where you can't hover over anything.

https://www.twitch.tv/ngngtv is streaming right now and Matt Neutron just asked him to show off a screenshot with pretty much exactly what Navid asked for. It looks pretty good. It should be right before Phil's last match at the end of the stream if you check out the VOD for today.

Small feedback: For me, I'd probably like Ammo at the bottom below Survivability Auxilery even.

In the Dev Log prior to this feature update, they said that they were going with these changes to avoid a refund of skills.

Hi folks,

I am happy to see this update and to see that there was some buy-in to rearranging the sensor/ECM/RADAR tree.

I also had the following suggestion for speed tweak.

This would align it more with the way that speed tweak becomes more available in the current tree. And I don't think anyone would suggest that speed tweak is an overpowered node, unless there are plans to scale the amount of speed tweak with the size of the mech (bigger/slower mech = more speed tweak), similar to how armor and structure are inversely scaled with the size of the mech (bigger, better armored mech = smaller bonus).

Hurray! No more entering Testing Grounds to find out how many ammo rounds do I get for my various missile+ballistic systems!

Thanks for getting back on fixing the Skill Tree. Wish it was that way from the beginning. Would have probably kept my six friends from bailing.

I actually reinstalled the game last night. Went through and stripped all my mechs, but looking forward to that and the Event Queue.
