I forgot this game even had music, until I logged into the public test.

The game music is actually ok. But I turned it off long ago since I use my own music or listen to podcasts as I play.

I turned it off to hear footsteps.
But yeah, it's not a bad soundtrack.

i usually turn it off and just listen to whatever was in my playlist.

thats not anything against the music. pgi has actually done a good job with the music in the mechwarrior franchise, especially the mw5 soundtrack. its just that its gotten old. reign in blood is a great album, but i dont listen to it every day.

Depends. The music in this game is pretty decent, but sometimes you need some heavy darksynth playing to really fit the mood for blowing stuff up.

Darksynth? I think you mean… metal. Posted Image If I’m not running some AC/DC while driving a Thunderbolt, it’s gotta be heavy metal, classic or new. Posted Image

i tend to frown on metal bands that use too much synth.

M83 has done music for many science fiction movies and most known for Midnight city.
Freya Catherine made songs for many videogames all from Warframe; We all lift together to covers; All This time

I turned it off years ago. If I want soundtrack, I put on a youtube playlist in the background.

Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries. You don't even have to remix it, it was just GOOD.

This person? This person gets it. Nothing like some Starlight Hunt on Frozen City.

I don't know when you were last playing MWO much. But, for all the time during which I have been playing, there has never been mission-long music that would have to be turned off in order for one to hear Mech footsteps. There's a blurb at the front, and then nothing more until the battle is done. Were you perhaps talking about MW5:M instead?

What about this? Posted Image

Of course this is a bit more traditional along the lines of a sabbath concert. Posted Image

Not often anymore. All the time back when I streamed, before Twitch started going completely nuts with copyright enforcement. (Don't get me wrong, I understand there were a lot of good reasons for why, but that doesn't mean I liked it.)

There was one guy, after someone shot me a host/raid, that flipped out in the chat because apparently every time he visited my stream "Highway Star" by Deep Purple just happened to be on... Now, I'll admit, that my playlist did need to be updated/expanded, but the playlist was still significantly longer than the stream was. Not my fault that Winamp's RNG regularly decided to play Highway Star a minute before this guy popped in. I have to admit, I was a little taken aback by the guy flipping out in chat, but, hey, he said he was never coming back and left, so... Um, ok, bro, you do you, I guess?

just in case:
yes, you can hear 'Highway Star' too often. Got it in my car (on 2? or 3 live-albums) and I skip it more and more.
but..
it's been there for 5? years or so and comes up on a nearly daily basis, so...

anyway; can't delete it, cause good-music is still good-music, even after you 'overdosed' on it and can't stand it anymore.
give it a few days and withdrawal sets in ;D

So there's not music during the actual match? Hmm. It's been years since I've had it on.
Maybe I turned it off to clear comms between FP matches, I dunno.
