It's been a couple months since the January patch had given the BLRs had their first quirk pass. So I figure that since i'm in the middle of doing a Battlemaster related project, that should survey the community about general opinions on how good or bad each variant is.

---> Here is the survey. <---
  • The survey will only take a couple minutes to fill out. Though it will take longer if you decide to share written opinions, which I would appreciate if could you do so, but that part is entirely optional.
  • You don't need to be an expert at piloting BLRs (or even have played them for that matter), all I want is for you to share your opinion so I can use the gathered data and opinions to examine and apply my findings to my project.
Again, the more people who respond the better, it would be greatly appreciated and would help with my project.

BLR don't have enough in the way of armor. My 3m is a fast assuat that forces me to torso twist. With the skills up date seems like everyone can withstand the burst of 8mpls. I even lost to an urbie one on one. Course I did hit all 3 torsos with 3 alphas and I was a little injured. But it seems I don't have enough armor for me to take on more than a light mech.

Battlemaster 1S is likely the best option and the reason is that the arms are too low mounted to be useful and missiles don't need high mount. You get a high mount for rockets instead and missiles don't need a high mount as they're guided.

It plays like a thunderbolt, it has all energy hardpoints mounted around the cockpit.

In speed the 3M isn't provided enough to make a difference. It's able to run at 75 in expense of most long range weaponry.
Most mechs of all tiers are able to drive faster than 75 that you are in league with madcat who is 5ton heavier.

Some BLRs are just worse Stalkers. Others are capable of high damage brawl or high dps, but are held back by being a barn door.

The ones that are good at things tend to be worse than other options, or are the best at doing something that isn't that useful in the end.

The hero is amazing, the full energy ones are ok. Bit on the weak side, but good damage. easily cored if you don't walk sideways lol

Yeah, Battlemaster Hellslinger (Hero mech) is good:
-10% Heat Gen
-10% Cooldown !
+1 HSL Snub-Nose-PPC (similar to AWS-8Q)
+20% PPC Velocity
-50% Environmental Heat Transfer (protection against Flamers!)

I treat Battlemaster Hellslinger as a better & higher version of Awesome AWS-8Q with 4x Snub-Nose-PPC,
and with +30% CBills to boot!

In general, the battlemaster is one of my favorite assaults. They play like an Extra Heavy.
They move relatively fast, have high mounts, and big chunky arms.

The one thing I don't like about the Battlemaster is the torso twist range, I always feel I need more twist and have to compensate for it. Other than that its alright. Its a very fast assault, almost like a heavy. The ERLL option is good, it allows you to keep up with the rotation while stay shooting at distance.
