I used to love the triple UAC5 muromets back in the day. Peeking around at a few meta builds out there, I decided to give a shot to a build that leverages the new light engines (well, new to me anyway) and upgrades one of the UAC5s to a UAC10: ctf-im

I wish there were one less hand actuator so I could fit in an extra ton of ammo, but I'm pretty happy with the stats on paper. I have to save up some CBills to switch the engine over before I can try it though.

Is this going to be viable or an absolute disaster in QP, though?

Try it. Posted Image

UAC-5s have been boosted: Shorter cooldown, shorter jam duration, less chance for jamming.

I am not sure if you will not need more ammo.

Runs really nice with 2 x RAC5 and a UAC10. XL280 Engine.

I don't like mixing rotary autocannons with XL engines. a RAC keeps you from doing a lot of torso twisting to spread damage around your mech, and an XL engine makes you dead with just a side torso gone. The two combined are fragile, undercutting the toughness of the 'phract. My opinion anyway.

Yeah, you don't generally want to mix different weapon characteristics like that, though. The UAC is burst-fire front-loaded pinpoint damage, while the RACs are continuous scatter-damage weapons. While you certainly can use the UAC to supplement the RACs, you'll likely get more out of the build using all UACs instead.
