4 players (pugs or organized unit' mates) go on to defend a friendly base from an attack by a number of tanks ,VTOLs and Aerospace enemies maybe backed up by a lance.

There are no AI-controlled tanks, VTOLs and ASFs in MWO and they will probably never be. PGI lacks both the manpower and the intent to include those features in MWO.
