Specifically, I'm trying to understand what qualifies for the "IS Reward".
I'm looking at the page referenced here

only 3 "excludes". What it says here is that the rival pack would work for this

but on a different page it states way differently

this one has a lot more "excludes" for the IS rewards section

TL:DR
1) Does anyone know if the Rival Pack will work for this "IS Reward" portion?
As I've been debating getting it or not.
One page says no, another says yes it would work.

2) If it doesn't work, does anyone know what the cheapest thing I can get that will work?
edit: seems like the cheapest would be a $10 light "Resistance" mech. um-k9, wlf-gr, or pnt-kk?

3) While I have you here does the dropship deal for 4 hero mechs count towards any of the loyalty things?
(edit to the edit: yes, it applies towards Prime Rewards section)

The Rival Pack does not qualify for the IS/Clan rewards. It qualifies for the prime boosted reward.

Rivals Pack qualifies you for the Boosted Rewards (and not Prime Reward).
"Have purchased, during the Eligibility period, any following Mech Booster pack : Stryker, Warden, Hunter, Rivals, Predator, or Bloodname"

As a fellow MWO player trying to achieve the 2022 Annual (Loyalty) Rewards myself:

1. IS Reward / Clan Reward
~Purchase any tier (ie: Standard/Collectors/Ultimate) of Premium (mech) Packages whose top tier is worth US$50+
eg: Flea premium pack (top tier=US$50), or Piranha premium pack (top tier=$50)
eg: Roughneck premium pack (top tier=US$70), or Sun Spider premium pack (top tier=$70)
eg: Crusader premium pack (top tier=$70)
eg: Resistance II premium pack (top tier=$80)
eg: Clan Wave III premium pack (top tier=$120)
eg: Above premium packs can be earned from Web Store, or receipient of the Gift Store IS & Clan premium packs

~You can even upgrade to qualify. eg: Standard Pack >> Collectors; or Collectors Pack >> Ultimate.

~You can purchase any mech in these premium mech packs to also qualify for IS Reward / Clan Reward:
eg: Resistance Hero premium pack (top tier=$175), buy any mech to qualify for IS Reward
eg: Clan Hero I premium pack (top tier=$140), buy any mech to qualify for Clan Reward
eg: Clan Hero II premium pack (top tier=$160), buy any mech to qualify for Clan Reward
eg: Clan IIC Hero premium pack (top tier=$70), buy any mech to qualify for Clan Reward
[That's where you hear about some folks buying the lower tier Hero to qualify for IS Reward or Clan Reward]

2. Boosted Reward
~Purchase any of these modern (post-2020) Booster Packs (US$20) to qualify:
eg: Stryker, Warden, Hunter, Rivals, Predator, or Bloodname Booster Pack
[Yes, Rivals pack is apparently considered a Booster Pack]

3. Various Platnium Rewards
~Purchase Platinum Collection as already clearly specified

4. Prime Reward
~Any other miscellaneous mech packs not included in above (1) / (2) / (3), such as:
eg: Solaris7 Hero Pack ($30) from MWO Website, or from Steam
eg: New player pack, Creator Bundle, Store Deal Bundle, Dropship Deal, Complete Collection, Tournament Supporter Pack
eg: Steam New Player pack
eg: Boosters (GSP, Premium Time)
eg: receipient of the Gift Store: Heroes, Champions, Reinforcements, Mech Bundles
