Look up Ace Combat 7 Anchorhead raid and pick a video, skip to the actual mission and give it a listen.

What I found so weird going through a little checklist is that Mechwarrior mercs 5 actually has a lot of the same elements;
* Voiced allies and enemies with frames that pop up when they're talking
* Lots of audio feedback in the fight
* Dynamic mission events (Airstrikes, base destruction, story missions)
* Characters responses to events (Base damage thresholds, enemy reinforcements)
* Music?

Now it might just be taste, but even watching someone else play Ace in this video gets my heart pounding in a way that actually playing Mechwarrior myself does not.

We're not even talking about the structure, gameplay, story, engine, just how the game sounds. It's a WORLD of difference and why I bring this up is because it's something so relatively easy it could be modded in.

Does anyone else get the same feeling?
