a lot of these games look like crap. only one i played was scorn, and i kind of thought that one was different and pleasantly disgusting. my only complaint is that it was a little short.

people try to lump it into the shooter genre but its really an adventure game. the critters he couldn't get past was probibly because he tried to fight every last one of them like it was doom. you can lure them away or run past them in a lot of cases, and you often need to because you dont have the ammo. the level in question is pretty early in the game, perhaps the midpoint. so he missed out on a lot of cool stuff later in the game.

this along with stray are bringing me back to the adventure game. modern ones are a lot more interactive. old 90s adventure games always felt like a ripoff. like you paid to watch a power point presentation or something. the technology just wasn't there yet. modern ones are much better.
