there seems to be 2 dominant strategies in this one. nascaring brawler onions and ramp sitting timbies and riflemen. sometimes you will see a night gyr boating ballistics that can do either strategy because most ballistics work in both brawls and trades. everything else i ran was definitely sub-meta. that included a variety of hellfires as well as some bone jags and linebackers. which might have been viable if they were either brawl, vomit, or dakka boats. i dont like to set up at the trade position with something thats just going to eat alphas and not do any real damage, and i avoided nascar. i liked to go to the middle ground and trade using the blocks as cover. the one time i had someone else want to do that strategy, we won the fight.
needless to say if i did the brawl strat with short range weapons, i need to get into weapon range. steiner colosseum doesn't offer much in terms of cover, and if i sit there, say behind one of the pillars, its going to be a 1 on 2 fight while i wait for the mechs to get closer. likewise i cant charge into 2 brawlers solo for the same reason. i dont think the camp strat works unless both players are in on it, you can kill or cripple one of the brawlers before they get to you, and then you stand a better chance at defeating the other. divide and conquer.
if there was a mismatch, its better to fight at some intermediate range maybe too far to brawl and too close to trade, but where both players can hurt the enemy. or split up and do the enemy's work for them. if this happens a lot, maybe take the ballistic option and pay attention to what your team mate does, or -gasp- communicate with them.
