Seeing Solaris 7 in event queue has given me a great way to spend the weekend. However it has given me pause, to think about a few suggestions for next time...
1: Where's Duncan Fisher when you need him? I get so sick of the growly clan "command" voice guy when I should be hearing the legendary Duncan Fisher.
2: Is there any way to make Event Queue matches count for the Steam achievements?
I never got to be around during when Solaris 7 was active and alive, and the few matches I did have were basically against my mates jumping in the queue at the same time as me. It's a lot of fun, and a nice change from the usual 12v12 chaos, or the forever waiting times of FP.
Basically, I'd love more Solaris 7 events. And Duncan Fisher. Please? <3

Yeah, I was expecting Duncan Fisher too. One of our players does a really fantastic Duncan Fisher impression; in fact I think his name is The Real Duncan Fisher. I personally think it might be Duncan Fisher's voice actor, George Ledoux, but we'll never know.

No no no no no no I have already listened duncan abouut half thousand times and I don't want to spend anymore time ever listening that instead of playing. Yeah that was pretty cool like first 10 times then it became annoyance.
but if there is gonna be solaris some kind of matchmaker would be nice, because beating people who are not really shooting back got old very fast, heck we won most of the games playing LRMs in steiner colisseum one with my friend.
it would be very simple if game is 1v1 or 2v2 to get even same tier opponents.

I enjoyed the event, well the Steiner map the rest so far weren't as much fun.
Would rather see maps either designed more like Steiner (open and rolling bit of terrain) or slices of existing maps - that completely unused forest section of the new forest for example. Would be an interesting way to shrink map size and player count to have 4v4 matches and smaller.

Yeah, but like, I have heard the awful clan command/IS command guys 1000000000000x more than I get to hear Duncan Fisher. I'd like if the Solaris events feel different to Quick Play which suffered a massive netsplit and dropped 2/3rds of the match haha.
The different maps were a refreshing change from Canyon Network or Veridian Bog or White Canyon all the time. There wasn't any pointless circling the map. A match free of LRM rain because AMS no longer counts toward match score and no one can be bothered bringing it along because they can jam another two MLs into their mech instead to get more damage? Having Flamers actually be useful?
I might sound like I'm having a go at you, but I really just enjoyed the different approach and I remembered Duncan from the original Solaris 7 matches and I missed hearing something different to the usual. Or maybe I've been playing MWO quickplay for too long now.

Steiner (2v2) and Mech Factory (1v1) were my favorites. That cave one was... Yikes. Didn't enjoy the cave match as much as before. And I totally agree. There's entire sections of the bigger maps that... Just get ignored. Completely. It wasn't until last year that I even noticed Canyon Network had a garbage dump, and machinery haha. And Canyon Network isn't even that big of a map! Let alone Hellbore Springs, Solaris 7 (ironically) or even Vitric Forge has some beautiful and under utilized brawl zones.

LBX is the cure to flamers. Can rock them right through the flames.

Steiner was the only on I cared for, especially with Heavy mechs. Jungle wasn't terrible, I was just over the 1v1 by that point with trying to play matches on the other maps. Might enjoy the jungle more with mediums, but the problem there on clan side is that it's going to be dominated by vomit and legging pretty much no matter what map it is IS would probably be more interesting.
Would be quite nice to have the standard maps sliced down to the less cluttered and more rolling parts for these kind of matches. Hopefully next time they do it its on random maps at the least.
