Alt-tabbed and browsing the information superhighway while waiting for your match to load? Get caught up and missed the first two minutes of your match?

Ever wonder why so many people are AFK at the start of the match and somebody says "wakey wakey" over VOIP and everybody starts moving?




SUFFER NO MORE!

Add this one line to your user.cfg to solve all your woes.

s_NoFocusVolume = 1

What this does is makes it so you can hear the game even when you've alt-tabbed out of it.





This one change has vastly improved my MWO experience - I can now join the queue, and safely alt-tab and ignore the game until I hear my mech powering up in the background. No need to check in periodically to see when the match is starting, now you'll just know!

Let everybody you know that this option exists!

Good one. It might also help if the whole lead in didn't take so long. It's often long enough to go make a cup of coffee, turn on the dishwasher and maybe even take a nap. I've actually fallen asleep once waiting for a match to start.

I freely admit to being the one shouting wakey wakey all the time. It has been even worse lately. While waiting I have youtube streaming on my phone or tablet so it doesn't distract from the game.

I just use my speakers and know it's roughly 3 minutes wait once I hit "play." Some nights I can make a pizza from scratch by the time the game finds and loads a match. "Weapons online!" Huh? Oh yeah I was playing mwo before I started doing this thing.

Weird. Matches no matter the time of day typically take less than a minute to form for me(not including the countdown as everyone loads in) but I do tend to play almost exclusively lights.

Tier 2 has been slightly longer queue than 3 so far, but that's mostly from drops on Sun-Tues that I got back around to playing.

Was thinking about learning heavy or assault again for the tier but I'd rather get knocked back down than sit in a queue longer.
