I'm not really wowed by most of the names. Scaleshot had a different name originally, it seems.

Yep Scattershot is good name as it also describes the mech nicely but release other mech as Scaleshot... wtf does it even mean out of few possible meanings that Scale can be.

Scale as in "banana for scale to show how we can do power creep with clan SRMs too".

Actually, I bought it because it is a fast SRM boat. I didn't even look at the quirks. I view it as the big brother to the Kitfox D - the Splatfox. I knew it would be nerfed from before I bought it, because almost all of the new mechs get nerfed in the patch that follows.

This thread is about the scattershot not the scaleshot. So many people seem to get them confused.
