Since there is a new map guy, hopefully still about anyhow - can we get an injection of about a dozen or two dozen maps to get this game at least somewhere near where it should be?

Just build out a pile of rough maps with existing terrain models and textures and refine/detail them over time.

Get's pretty boring, especially during events to play the same handful of small maps that have been around for 8 years with the same skirmish priority mode that has been around since beta.

I hope they don't put too much light on night maps. I want to use my night vision goggles.

This game should be closing in on a hundred maps 10 years in.

There really are too many maps that obscure both Night Vision and Thermals, like that River Sh....City Dawn map. I want something like the old Tehran Highway (Night) map from BF3. Make some places have some sort of environmentals that can counter NV and do not necessitate it, sure, but make large swaths of the map a challenge to maneuver without it!

Maybe something that has a developed urban area with plenty of artificial lighting, and something outside of the developed zone that lacks the lighting. This could also make the addition of Flares as a consumable a viable option! Especially if some of the lights in the developed area were destructable objects. This way, players using NV could try to give themselves an advantage by destroying lights, but players could counter with Flares to overwhelm the NV and illuminate targets. Maybe there could even be spot-lights mounted on 'Mechs? I dunno, just kind of spit-balling, I just think there are not enough maps that really give purpose to either of the enhanced imaging options.

I'm a new-ish player, so take this for what it's worth, but I disagree with the idea that we need more dark maps. I already find it difficult enough to see- using any of the available vision modes- on maps like Solaris and the Terra Thermas.
So my vote would be: more maps? yes please. more dark or foggy maps? no thanks.

This may be due to your video settings? Terrible Therma is obviously going to be wack with Thermal, and even Night Vision is rough in some places. Solaris though? How are you unable to see with normal visuals? And if anything, Thermal would be the one to use for better contrast. This is why I would like a map specifically made to work with the advanced imaging, either in specific areas - or across the whole map.
