unless the mech has slot specific velocity quirks (such as ballistic only) at the effective ranges off LBX and MRM the velocity difference isn't all that bad. i i usually hold the MRMs till a bit closer though (like 350m-)
but yeah they are usually spatter builds thats why i put in the MLs so i can pick out weakened components easier once things get closer.

Using an AC/10 instead of the LB-X for pinpoint would work even better than those 4 MLs - but of course this 'mech isn't quirked for that. The difference in velocity will be very noticeable if your target is evading, however, even at closer ranges like 350m. It's only when you have a slow-moving, zero-deflection shot that the weapon agreement issue becomes trivial.
Not that it makes the build bad; one of my Shadow Hawks pairs LAC/5s with MRMs, which has the same limitation. You just have to work with the limitations of the 'mech, and it excels at pouring damage into Assault 'mechs.

And my crazy butt, after looking at the quirks and hardpoints... would do something along the lines of an LBx10, 2 ALRM10s, and some lasers as permitted by weight. But then again, I've been accused of not being "normal".
This statement right here is why I've not been impressed with the quirk system. It's good to help chassis/variants in need of a lift, but it hurts sometimes (depending upon how it is done) when it shoe horns a mech into a very specific build. The LBx and spread quirks makes you want to focus on that LB over any other cannon. The Spread makes you want to take missiles (of almost any type). But yet, an AC10 and PPC combo with some lasers to compliment, should be a perfectly viable as well a build on this chassis... (But then again, there are the other Champion Variants that can pick up this build).
Honestly, I've been disapointed that when a new mech is coming out, it's not "oh, I liked that mech in the past, what variants are coming?", it's instead "Quirks! WHAT ARE IT'S QUIRKS!" because those added perks are all people care about anymore...

It's an inherent problem with the source material, faithfully implemented. Battletech (and Mechwarrior) has ALWAYS featured 'mech customization- whether you're designing your own 'mechs with the original box set, duct-taping Small Lasers to a Locust for the Crescent Hawks, or managing pod loadouts in MW5. MWO, by popular demand, went with a very open customization system - remember how many people insisted that on-release Clans were underpowered, because they couldn't drop engine rating to fit even more heat sinks and guns? But that amount of customization means that eventually most 'mechs are close substitutes for other 'mechs... And the only things that make those 'mechs different are their architecture, and quirks.
So that's why you see 'mechs like the Champion with hyper-focused weapon quirks - but remember, those quirks go with the hardpoints - TTB's build on the last page was simply 3 LXPLs with a lot of heat sinks, which tops 20 dps with skills. Pidgeon-holing 'mechs has been a function of how quirks were implemented, and PGI and the Cauldron don't want to do that. So you're seeing more and more quirk consolidation in recent patches, giving players more choice by replacing weapon-specific quirks with more general ones.

Oh. I get why we got here, and some mechs do need that to be something different and still viable. But on the same given statement, some people make it so mechs are all about quirks and nothing else seems to matter (hence, "what are the quirks" responses to new mechs). It's like delayed weapon convergence. I liked it, but I also understand why it went away (so HSR would become a thing, which is better than trying to lag shoot something).
Always gives and takes.
