So I'm curious to what mech would you like to start with as part of the Lyran Commonwealth? Although for some reason I feel I'm wasting my time cause I think I know where its going to head.......and rightfully so.

I put in a poll to get a general weight class of what you want to pilot, but I put a few *null* suggestions in case you don't feel like voting. May go back and change it later although it could spoil fun.

I was about to vote Atlas, but decided to pull back and go Heavy. Still needs to be bigger than average, but we don't need Nooby McNoobinson in an Atlas.

Why not. Its not like we lose anything of value if Nooby McNoobinson blows up. And if he is in an Atlas at least he takes a while until he does.
More time for us to blow stuff up with our own 'mechs (read, our own Atlas)

It's House STEINER. The starting mech should follow how they solve every problem: Throw assault mechs at it until it goes away.

Fair enough. But I still prefer something a bit more maneuverable than a fortification. I know I'm risking it, but I should probably ride something closer to the scout range... like a Zeus.

EDIT: Though depending on how the timeline goes, I can't wait to get my hands on a little Hauptmann. I know it'll be forever, considering the 1:1 timeline, but hey, I'll have something to look forward to.

If you aren't going to vote for our gold standard, yes our currency is based on Atlas Mechs, you could at least make sure it's winning.

It should be like in Battletech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception, where you start out on foot and later acquire a Commando Battle Armor.

Now that writing something for purely satirical purposes is out of the way, (read: LOL JK) if I decide to join House Steiner, it will be a nice twist trying to race to a SMALLER mech, and if not, I shall feel epic while rendering multiple, noob piloted Atlases totally inoperative.

In order;
Wolf Hound, Hatchetman, Griffin, Warhammer, Axeman, Zeus, Atlas

The Commando from MW2: Mercs was also a pretty sweet ride.

Should point out that the weight categories are using rest of IS terms, not Lyran terms. So if you voted for an Atlas medium mech just reminding you now :lol:

Banshee BNC-3E
"It's the assault mech that feels like a Medium!"
Thousands were made over the centuries; let the recruits start in a big hunk of salvage.
Or maybe a 3M if they want some clan simulation.
Peace thru superior firepower...

well i for one dont think we will see anything but light mechs to start for every player, get your character points up and your loyalty points up and level up to a medium , then more for a heavy , then more for an assuslt the RPG eliment.

If they pattern this game after World of Tanks, I would not be surprised if we all started with Locusts.
I'm ready for the grind to 95-ton mechs. :lol:

I think the WoT system works well. In that case, I think we should be starting with the Commando (2D). It's speedy, humanoid, and better armored than a locust.

It packs a medium laser, SRM-4, and SRM-6. For a light mech, it's got a nasty punch.

Best of all, it doesn't have jumpjets. Just like an Atlas.

Light Progression: Commando (with variants); Firestarter; Wolfhound

Medium Progression: Hatchetman (if possible); Griffon (variants cover a wide range of distances); Wolverine; Lynx

Heavy: Crossbow(fire support); Marauder(long)/Rifleman(short); Crusader(short)/Warhammer(long); Axeman(short)/Flashman(long);

Assault: Banshee, Battlemaster, Zeus, Atlas

Eh all i care for is that we got OMNI points n not fixed gunz like mech warrior 4 n the likes sure its fun but, Not being able to adapt to the flow of time kinda sucks when it comes to 1v12 or larger scale player battles. As for mech we probably all start with a flea or something horrid like it lol

The best would be something that reflect the production rating of this faction.
When the Lyran Commenwealth produced Zeus and Atlas in same numbers like Draconis Combine produce Jenner and Panthers that should be considered.

A Commando with all its variants would be nice (Prototype with Large Laser...double SRM 6s for Armor...)
No Wolfhound at the very beginning in 3049 it is only a 20years old model.

As revanus considered some unique mechs could be nice too: like Crossbow, Ymir

I think a medicore medium Mech like Centurion/Chameleon would be best for the beginning.
